Disconnect is the long awaited new studio album from John Wesley. It features 10 songs, including a guest performance by Alex Lifeson of Rush on ‘Once a Warrior’ as well as a mix by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree on the song ‘Window.’ The album was produced by Dean Tidey and John Wesley and mixed by Steven Orchard. Disconnect is a new collection of John Wesley's guitar-driven acoustic and electric songs straddling the alternative, progressive, art, and classic rock genres, and graced by Wesley's poignant lyrics drawn from the poetry of the everyday. Alex Lifeson (Rush) contributes a typically unique solo to Once A Warrior.
With Disconnect John Wesley has found the music that has gone missing from our lives. The albums that make you want to put on headphones, lay back, close your eyes and just float along with the story are sadly far and few between these days. This album is one of those that brings back the wonder of floating along with the story that unfolds before your ears. I am very happy!
This album features the kind of music that we once expected from artists and nowadays seldom find. This is an album that gave me goosebumps and bought tears to my eyes. It takes you back to the days when you would listen to an album, your brain sucking in every nuance and you finding yourself thrilling at a well-turned lyric or a tasty riff that brings that little shock of pleasure to your soul. This is EXACTLY what Disconnect is all about. John allowed us to become part of the story through his music. Excellent, excellent album!!!
