An American businessman's family convinces him to buy a Scottish castle and disassemble it to ship it to America brick by brick, where it will be put it back together. The castle though is not the only part of the deal, with it goes the several-hundred year old ghost who haunts it.

Captain Philippe Boulier (Jean Reno), codename Shark, is top intelligence agent in the French army. His unit has discovered a plan to sell secret military equipment to a South American crime lord. To catch them in the act he has bugged a translator Marie-Laurence (Valérie Lemercier) who is unwittingly working for the go between in the deal.
