Another winner for author, Debra Webb! This story is a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat type read. She was never found, and they both barely exist by trying to deal with the pain by just working. Sarah is a detective and Tom is an FBI agent. Max Booth III "The Mind is a Razorblade"
    Kraken Press | English | September 18, 2014 | ISBN: 9197972517 | 246 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 3,14 mb

The Mind is a Razorblade takes the familiar story of a man trying to recover his memory by leaving a trail of bodies behind him and guts it. The reader is right there with the protagonist, groping for details as we descend deeper and deeper into the twisted world that Max has created. Chapters are short and it moves at a breakneck pace during extended reading sessions I found myself repeating “Just five more minutes… just five more minutes… ” However, my favorite aspect of the novel is the humor sprinkled throughout.

    Language: English | EPUB / MOBI | ISBN-10: 0007156383 | 2006 | 400 pages | 0.5 MB / 0.7 MB

A thrilling account of treachery, loyalty and martyrdom in Elizabethan England from an exceptional new writer. As darkness fell on the evening of Friday, 28 October 1588, just weeks after the defeat of the Spanish Armada, two young Englishmen landed in secret on a Norfolk beach. They were Jesuit priests. Their aim was to achieve by force of argument what the Armada had failed to do by force of arms: return England to the Catholic Church. Eighteen years later their mission had been shattered by the actions of a small group of terrorists, the Gunpowder Plotters; they themselves had been accused of designing 'that most horrid and hellish conspiracy'; and the future of every Catholic they had come to save depended on the silence of an Oxford joiner, builder of priest-holes, being tortured in the Tower of London.

‘My mother thought I was working for the Ministry of Ag. and Fish.’ So begins Noreen Riols’ compelling memoir of her time as a member of Churchill’s ‘secret army’, the Special Forces Executive. It was 1941 and, just before her eighteenth birthday, Noreen received her call up papers, and was faced with either working in a munitions factory or joining the WRENS. Liking the look of the Wrens uniform, Noreen opted for that. But when one of her interviewers realized she spoke fluent French, she was directed to a government building on Baker Street. It was SOE headquarters, where she was immediately recruited into F-Section, led by Colonel Maurice Buckmaster.

    Jane Peranteau "Jumping: A Novel"
    Hampton Roads Publishing | English | November 1, 2014 | ISBN: 1571747192 | 288 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 3,31 mb

This novel is one of the best I have read in a very long time. The story is unlike anything that I have ever come across. Peranteau weaves the story and her characters in a way that keeps you engaged with every page turn. It isn't often either, that I find a book that makes me think the way Jumping did. I found myself in the middle of the page having to look up to simply let my mind catch up with story.
