    "Thank God It's Friday" is a 1978 American musical comedy film directed by Robert Klane and produced by Motown Productions and Casablanca Filmworks for Columbia Pictures. The film contains many popular disco songs, with many key performers featured, including Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Thelma Houston, The Commodores. A triple album containing many of the tracks heard in the film was a commercial success.

    No musicians are credited except for the associate producer title given to keyboard player Larry Knechtel and retaining Bread photographer, Frank Bez, as well as engineer Bruce Morgan, who played an important part in David Gates' First from 1973 (and who would engineer Bread's 1977 comeback, Lost Without Your Love ). The lead singer of the '70s very recognizable soft rock hit machine delivers his second solo disc, part of something a retailer once referred to as "breadcrumbs," the result of Bread's breakup. Certainly the solo recordings by James Griffin, Larry Knechtel, and Gates were nowhere as entertaining as the full band, but each time, that comes down to the material. This album sounds so much like another Bread album that there is no doubt who the main force was.

    Balkan folk music stylist and film composer Goran Bregovic was born in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia on March 22, 1950, beginning his music career in 1966 as bassist with the local rock band Bestije. After a three-year stint as a member of Kodeks, in 1971 he joined the underground trio Mica, Goran and Zoran. Three years later Bregovic founded Bijelo Dugme, one of Yugoslavia's most successful and influential bands until their breakup in 1988. He first turned to film work in 1978, composing the score to Mica Milosevic's Nije Nego, though Bregovic's most fruitful collaboration was with director Emir Kusturica, for whom he scored 1988's Time of the Gypsies, 1993's Arizona Dream, and 1995 Palme d'Or winner, Underground. His other scores during this period included 1994's Queen Margot, 1996's A Chef in Love, and 1997's A Serpent's Kiss. Meanwhile, his exuberant solo folk-pop recordings included 1996's P.S., the 1998 live album Silence of the Balkans, and 1999's Ederlezi. The latter two were his first for Mercury and Polygram.

    Abel Korzeniowski has been hired to score the upcoming horror thriller The Nun. The film is directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow) and stars Taissa Farmiga, Demián Bichir, Charlotte Hope, Bonnie Aarons, Jonas Bloquet and Ingrid Bisu. The movie is a spinoff of New Line Cinema’s hit franchise The Conjuring and follows a priest who is sent to Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun. Gary Dauberman (It, Annabelle) wrote the screenplay. James Wan (Furious 7, Insidious, Saw) and Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Buried) are producing the New Line production. The Nun is currently in post-production and will be released on July 13, 2018 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
