The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records. It built on ideas explored in Pink Floyd's earlier recordings and performances, but without the extended instrumentals that characterised their earlier work. A concept album, its themes explore conflict, greed, time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by the deteriorating health of founding member Syd Barrett, who left in 1968.

William Tyler’s new record, Goes West, is the best music that he’s ever made. I’m sure of this because I know and love all of his music intimately, and this album moves me the most, and the most consistently. The first time I heard it was in the late spring in the Texas Hill Country, rolling between limestone and scrub. I was on a cleanse then—no alcohol, no drugs, no evil thoughts—and was astonished at the emotional clarity that the album held. It offered up a model for what I wanted my head to feel like. Goes West marks a sort of narrowing of focus for William’s music; it sounds as though he found a way to point himself directly towards the rich and bittersweet emotional center of his music without being distracted by side trips. Perhaps this is down to the fact that William only plays acoustic guitar on the album, a clear and conscious decision considering that he is one of Nashville’s great electric guitarists. The band that performs Goes West alongside William—including guitarists Meg Duffy and Bill Frisell, bassist and producer Brad Cook, keyboardist James Wallace, drummer Griffin Goldsmith, and engineer Tucker Martine—is the best and most sympathetic group of players that William could have assembled to play these songs.

In celebration of the group's 20th Anniversary, The TEN Tenors release Wish You Were Here, an album of material from iconic performers who have passed on including Prince, David Bowie, Michael Hutchence of INXS, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Roy Orbison and more. The album is a journey through some of the world's greatest hits, from the classic rock anthems of Queen, "We Are the Champions," and David Bowie, "Heroes" to unique "tenorial" takes on material by Michael Jackson, "The Way You Make Me Feel," and Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance With Somebody".

Mark Kozelek’s upcoming album is now a Sun Kil Moon release called I Also Want To Die In New Orleans. The collaborative project with Donny McCaslin and Jim White saw its title change after Kozelek saw a poster for the $uicideboy$ album I Want to Die In New Orleans.

Debussy’s early promise as a virtuoso pianist never blossomed; instead he turned to composition, resulting in the creation of some of the 20th century’s greatest music. But he never abandoned the piano, and this beautifully played album gathers together some of his finest shorter works for the instrument. In pieces such as the Suite bergamasque and Images 2e Série, Lugansky ravishes the ear with playing of delicacy and fantasy. L’Isle joyeuse is gorgeous while “Jardins sous la pluie” conjures up the image of rain on leaves with astounding clarity.

At the outset of CHANGE, Chick Corea's first studio album with his group Origin, it is clear that he has made a transition from his electric fusion style to straight-ahead acoustic jazz. On the opening track "Wigwam," Corea's signature percussive piano style has been replaced by a marimba's wooden tones. Most Corea fans should know that the piano master began his career on the drums, and his natural love of the mallet instruments makes logical sense. Corea's piano is ever present, however, as Origin proves to be the pianist's most traditional ensemble to date.

After recording a string of fusion records in the late '80s with his Elektric Band, Chick Corea returned to acoustic jazz with this trio date. Enlisting Elektric Band sidemen John Patitucci and Dave Weckl, Corea swings through ten tracks with noticeably mixed results. The leader is as romantic as ever, playing with bravado even on ballads, flawlessly executing complicated ideas, reveling in drama and melodrama. Patitucci's upright playing clearly betrays his electric pedigree; listen quickly to his solo on "So in Love" and you might mistake it for a Jaco Pastorius spot. Weckl has been accused of being a soulless technician serving questionable music in the past, and those who are predisposed against him will find nothing here to change their minds.

2nd release by British progressive rock group Grand Tour from Scotland, which features Hew Montgomery, formerly keyboard player with Glasgow’s Abel Ganz, current Comedy of Errors men Joe Cairney on vocals and Bruce Levick on drums, and former Errors guitarist Mark Spalding. For Grand Tour, 2005 was the year it all started…having played keyboards with Glasgow’s Abel Ganz since 1982, Hew Montgomery had begun to feel the need to take more direct control of his own material as the Ganz machine moved off in a slightly different musical direction from his. Grand Tour was born from a long held fascination with the cold war years and the nuclear stand-off between the super powers - the film “On the Beach” was a huge influence to the music as well, and many of the musical ideas flowed from the visual imagery of the movie.
