Seven lengthy tracks with incredible perfect rhythm changes, harsh guitar solos and also silent and epic tracks. One of the ten records for a lonely island. But incredible rare and almost impossible to find.

Vincenzo Bellini’s third opera, Il pirata, marked an important step in his career. Not only was it the 27 year old’s first score for the brand leader of Italian opera houses, La Scala, Milan, it also represented his first collaboration with Felice Romani, the leading librettist of the day, who was to become his regular artistic partner. Based (via a French translation) on an English play by the Anglo-Irish Gothic writer Charles Maturin, Il pirata describes how Gualtiero (José Bros) is shipwrecked during a storm on the Sicilian coast, where his former love, Imogene, (Carmen Giannattasio) has been forced into an unwilling marriage by Ernesto, the local duke (Ludovic Tézier). Tensions build between the three until Gualtiero kills Ernesto in a duel, causing Imogene to go mad with guilt. David Parry conducts this exceptional example of early romantic opera at its most dramatically potent.

Listening "Isao Suzuki plays Ave Maria" (2015, King Record Co). Recorded on December 2014 at King Sekiguchidai Studio #1 . Such a beautiful album from the Japanese jazz double-bassist Isao Suzuki. According to Eastwind Import and Wikipedia, Isao Suzuki's musical career began in 1956 when he played bass in an American military camp. He played early in his career with the legendary saxophonist Sadao Watanabe. This recording is a masterpiece and it is highly recommended.

Håkan Hagegård made his operatic debut in 1968 as Papageno with the Stockholm Opera, and came to international attention when he reprised the role in Ingmar Bergman’s 1975 film of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Throughout his career, the great Swedish baritone appeared in the world’s top opera houses, singing roles including Don Giovanni, Scarpia, and Figaro. He also became one of the music world’s celebrated recitalists. His love of art song led him to establish the Singers Studio in Stockholm.

Aaron Copland wrote his rarely heard ballet Hear Ye! Hear Ye! for Ruth Page, the dancer and choreographer who was to become the Grande Dame of American ballet. Its scenario is a murder in a nightclub and the ensuing trial in a Chicago courtroom. Copland infused the score with the spirit of his jazz-influenced pieces, controversially distorting part of the National Anthem, and infiltrating music from some of his earlier works. In complete contrast, Appalachian Spring is his most famous work, a true American masterpiece founded on transfigured dance tunes and song melodies. This is volume two of the Complete Ballet series.

This album features the acclaimed Finnish pianist Olli Mustonen with piano works by Alexander Scriabin, which have become his signature pieces in recital. The virtuoso sets of Etudes and Preludes cover a wide range of late-Romantic expressions, from heroic to religious, ecstatic to melancholic. The Sonata No. 10 is regarded as one of Scriabin’s greatest works. The collection culminates with the pianistic tour-de-force of Vers la flamme, an astonishing piece famously championed by the late Vladimir Horowitz.

Spanish vocal group Mocedades was formed in 1967 by four young students from Bilbao. Inspired by folk music and songs by the Beatles, they started a band called Voces y Guitarras, later named Mocedades. When producer Juan Carlos Calderon listened to their first demo, he was instantly convinced about the chance they would have to become a major act in the local scene. Mocedades started making history in 1973 when the band came in second place at Eurovisión's Festival with its song "Eres Tú," followed soon after by a second smash hit called "Tómame o Déjame." In 1980, Mocedades signed up to CBS and started working with producer Oscar Gómez.

Second release on Ondine by the award-winning pianist Anastasia Injushina features some of the lesser-known aspects of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s (1756–1791) piano music. Injushina is particularly known for the poetry and sensitivity in her playing, which makes Mozart’s music, among others, a perfect choice for repertoire for her.

The three original members of Chambao La Mari, El Edi, and Dani made waves in the world music scene with their new brand of flamenco, called flamenco chill, which combined the passion and vocal style of traditional Andalusian flamenco with elements of electronica, specifically chillout. Formed in the early morning hours of the 2001 summer solstice in Malaga, Spain, Chambao first appeared to the greater public on the 2002 Sony compilation Flamenco Chill, to which they contributed eight songs, featuring Mari on vocals and the others on the instrumentation.
