For the first time in over 15 years, with a full rock band of dear friends, Nils Lofgren hit the road with a new album, Blue With Lou, featuring songs co-written with Lou Reed.

Growing up in middle-class suburban Pennsylvania, Jen Pague looked around at the routine of family life and rejected it in full. The suburban isolation, the lack of culture, the white picket fences: “I didn’t want to be part of it in any capacity,” Pague says. “Even from a very young age. I wasn’t going to do what my parents did.” So she started a band.

In Sickness & In Flames is the duo’s seventh album overall and follows their 2017 LP Going Grey. Perhaps most notably, it was produced by Mike Sapone. Over the course of 12 songs — one of which is the previously released single “Camouflage” — The Front Bottoms use this new album to celebrate life, purge angst, and push forward with “positive and creative energy,” according to a press release.

The Shadow is an album of growth. Each song on The Shadow examines an aspect of this growth through a different musical lens, adding up to a series of rock-and-roll vignettes of light, shadow, anxiety and responsibility. Frantic punk-scenes of information overload are contrasted by patient drones of introspection; fun, ear-worm musings of life as a young rock band are juxtaposed with the heavier responsibility of having a voice and not quite knowing what to say. The amalgam of information in the songs is complemented with a blend of sonic perspectives.

Born in New York City, 21 year old Maya Hawke is an actress, singer and lyricist. Hawke was most recently seen in the third season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” as well as in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and Amanda Kramer’s “Ladyworld.” Following the release of her independently released A and B side singles in 2019, she returns with a deeply personal full-length album.

Alex Cameron has announced Miami Memories, a four-track EP out 21st August, comprising the original versions of songs that found their way onto Cameron’s acclaimed 2019 record Miami Memory (‘Miami Memory serves as a testament to what great songwriting can accomplish. It can change minds, change people.’ – Uproxx).

It’s difficult to talk about Exotic Sin, the duo of Naima Karlsson and Kenichi Iwasa, without discussing Karlsson’s prestigious musical bloodline. Tim McGraw will release his new album, Here On Earth, on August 21st. This will be his 16th studio album, and it will include his current hit single, "I Called Mama," along with 15 other songs.

Saxophone legend Lester Young, nicknamed "Prez", came to prominence as a member of Count Basie's orchestra, then becoming one of the most influential saxophonists of our time. In contrast to many of his hard-driving peers, Young played with a relaxed, cool tone and used sophisticated harmonies. In the early 1960s, when Dickerson first emerged on the scene, a number of musicians had already arrived at the conclusion that bebop, which had dominated jazz for two decades, was an increasingly inadequate system out of which to make a music that could embody the tensions, dangers, revelations and liberated energies of the times.
