Jack White is one of the undisputed kings of modern rock, and it’s somewhat confusing how he’s gotten so successful with the White Stripes and Third Man Records but he hasn’t released a solo record.

For his debut solo album, rising Los Angeles-based pianist Thomas Kotcheff has taken on a formidable challenge: the premiere recording of American composer Frederic Rzewski’s virtuosic (and timely) Songs of Insurrection, based on protest songs from seven countries around the world.

Barely known outside of his home country during his lifetime, the late Japanese ambient music pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura has seen his global stature rise steadily in the past few years. The 2017 reissue of his lauded debut, Music For Nine Post Cards, along with a slow building cult internet following has helped ignite a renaissance in his acclaimed body of work, much of which has never been released outside of Japan. Known for his sound design and environmental music, Yoshimura worked on a number of commissions following the 1982 release of Music For Nine Post Cards, including works for museums, galleries, public spaces, TV shows, video art, fashion shows, and even a cosmetics company.

The sixth album by Frozen Planet….1969 is another improvised heavy-psyched-out instrumental adventure. A concept album about a travelling medicine show. Parts i through vi of the title-track serve as the acts of the show. The band takes twists and turns to help guide you through the story, while Doctor Berner, with the help of some colourful characters, is on a quest to sell bottles of his glowing green elixir (which will apparently cure any pain or deliver anyone from evil!).

Future Nostalgia is the second studio album by English singer Dua Lipa. Lipa began working on the album in early 2018, enlisting writers and producers such as Jeff Bhasker, Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, The Monsters and the Strangerz and others in order to create a pop record with a "nostalgic" and electronic feel. "Don't Start Now" was released as the album's lead single on 1 November 2019. The song attained both critical and commercial success, becoming her seventh top 10 entry on the UK Singles Chart and first top three entry on the US Billboard Hot 100.
