THE DARK AGES profiles those who battled to shape the future, from the warlords whose armies threatened to case the demise of European society, like Alaric, Charles the Hammer, and Clovis; to the men and women who valiantly tended the flames of justice, knowledge, and innovation including Charlemagne, St. Benedict, Empress Theodora, and other brave souls who fought for peace and enlightenment. It was in the shadows of this turbulent millennium that the seeds of modern civilization were sown.
The B-52s performed their first ever gig on Valentine's Day in 1977. And 34 years later, in February 2011, they returned to their hometown of Athens, GA to celebrate with this brilliant live show. Wig-wearing, boa-draped, glitter-covered fans came from near and far to see the band deliver a sizzling set that turned Athens' Classic Center into a cosmic dancehall. A B-52s live show is always the best party in town, yet here in front of their home crowd they turned it up a notch higher.
