Within the first few seconds of the first track–the Sonata No. 1 in G major–most listeners will find themselves in surprisingly familiar territory–surprising because this little-known 18th-century composer seems to have written a popular tune long attributed to Pergolesi, a misattribution given additional false credibility by its use in Stravinsky's Pulcinella. […] Ultimately–other than the fact that it's always nice to set the record straight–the author of these expertly written and very appealing works for violins, cello, and harpsichord is not so important as what they offer to listeners and to performers. […] As realized by these four excellent players and their well-matched period instruments, we can count on a steadfastly upbeat, uplifting hour and 10 minutes of first rate chamber music notable for its lovely, lively melodies and skillfully varied textures and harmonic settings. (David Vernier, ClassicsToday.com)
The playing of the period instrument group Parnassi musici is elegant, tuneful and exhibits a splendid lightness of touch. This is music to delight rather than astound, and, along with compositions by Bach's sons, gives an aural snapshot of the moment when the formality of the Baroque period gave way to classical exuberance. (Tony Gualtieri, classical-music-review.org)
Sopwith Camel was a rock music band associated with the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene of the late 1960s. Formed in 1966, the Sopwith Camel was the second San Francisco band to be signed by a major record company -- right after Jefferson Airplane and before the Grateful Dead. They might also have been the first San Francisco group to break up, disbanding after only one album and a "wildly commercial" single "Hello, Hello." Sopwith Camel reformed in 1971 and recorded their second album, 1972's on Warner Bros. Records' Reprise label. The band broke up again in 1974. After sitting in the Warner Bros. vaults for 30 years, the Camel's 1972 album, , was issued on CD in 2001. It was called, The Millennium Edition. In 2006, the second CD release of the , was called Remastered 2006.
The instrument was distinguished by its wide compass, its use of sympathetic strings (not bowed but allowed to resonate), and the fact that it lent itself to playing the lyra way (as with the bass viola da gamba), facilitating the use of multiple stopping and contrapuntal textures. Vivaldi was obviously no less attracted by it; six concertos are a lot for such an unusual instrument, and it is fair to say that they represent some of the most beguiling music he wrote. I make no apology for using the word once more, to describe these performances by Catherine Mackintosh and the OAE
Adrenicide is definately one of,and arguably, the premier Crossover band in Britain. Formed in Jan.2003,the core of the band has always comprised: Nuno Evaristo-(most instruments/vocals)and Neilson Armstrong-(vocals/bass) two old school fuck-heads, on a mission to make pure 80's Hardcore/Crossover. Adrenicide is the bastard son of this union.
With absolutely no consideration for modern trends,Adrenicide first unleashed their own savage brand of kick-ass Crossover in Jan.2003.With heads full of dumb-ass riffs, they wasted no time in writing & recording the raw as fuck "Impropaganda"-the first elbow-to-the-face of the Nu-Metal shit that seems to prevail then. More a collection of demo's than a fully-fledged album, "Impropaganda"is an uncompromising reaction to the sugar-coated shit that masquerades as modern Metal. Brutal & primitive?certaintly, but it has the key ingredient missing today-memorable songs that you can fuckin' Mosh and form a circle to.
drenicide continue to be one of the only true Old School bands in the country. To them, it’s about the songs, the lyrics, the image; the whole deal, not just borrowing your older brother’s “Exodus” or “Testament” albums and forming a tribute act. You know this band will still be standing once the band wagon jumping copy-cats have long since folded. Remember the true spirit of the 80’s crossover scene-lets stick together and make the scene work this time. Thrashers, Punks, Moshers and Crossover freaks-Unite and let’s all shout the same fuckin’ thing: “THRASH ISN’T BACK: TO THE TRUE, IT NEVER FUCKIN’ WENT AWAY!.”
Founded in 2006 STORRMBRINGER offers its first three titles as a demo, Stormbringer, Heathen Cry and Return Of The Avenger.
STORRMBRINGER practice Heavy Metal epic very influenced by IRON MAIDEN (mostly on Heathen Cry and Return Of The Avenger), but also Underground.
Stormbringer, the first title, is rather catchy and speed , the opportunity to see a successful production (which still lacks power, but it highlights the work and applied for the group) and musicians at ease.
The singer is more like "road head" and limit too acute sometimes with a little accent, you must be accustomed to this style to enjoy.
STORRMBRINGER is a good group of theUnderground but still classic and heard out (on a label), his first album on that basis today.
