Love Affair were a London based pop, soul, R&B group formed in 1966. They had several UK Singles Chart Top 10 hits, including the number one success "Everlasting Love". Their first single, "She Smiled Sweetly", written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, released on Decca Records flopped, but they reached the top of the UK Singles Chart in January 1968 with "Everlasting Love". By this time the group had relocated to CBS Records. The song was first recorded by Robert Knight, whose version had reached No. 13 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the autumn of 1967, and it was previously offered to the Marmalade, who turned it down as they thought it too pop-oriented for them. Ellis had a similar vocal style to Steve Marriott of the Small Faces, and the production was similar to a Motown soul record.

Sock Monkey, the follow up to 2004's Catfish (Tzadik), and the latest of a whole string of albums on Innova, starts off with a fine example of Applebaum's exuberant postmodernism, in the form of Magnetic North (2006), a 14-minute adventure scored for brass quintet and percussion with occasional interpolated cadenzas from an additional soloist, in this case Applebaum himself on his self-designed mouseketier (an electroacoustic sound sculpture incorporating amplified bits of junk and toys, whose already strange sounds are further transformed electronically).

The Watson Twins are an American musical group based in Los Angeles with alternative country and indie folk influences. They are identical twin sisters named Chandra and Leigh Watson. The band includes contributions from Aram Arslanian, Russ Pollard, Jason Soda, and Jenny Lewis.

Heartland is the third album by Canadian indie rock artist Owen Pallett, released January 12, 2010 on Domino Records. It's the first of Pallett's records to be released under his own name. Since the album was his first to be released in Japan, he wished to avoid generating confusion with the Final Fantasy video games from Square Enix, and to avoid infringing on any trademarks. Pallett stated that his previous albums will be repackaged and reissued under his own name at some point.

Jorge Pardo is an excellent saxophonist that has recorded often with percussionist Tino di Geraldo and Bass player Carles Benavent. Their fusion of spanish music and jazz is one of the best I've ever heard. The outstanding talent of the musicians he plays with makes of this record something really special. Mostly instrumental, this is a soft but powerful record.
