This album is performed by Yoshi Waki on bass, John Davis on drums and the Japanese pianist on piano. On this release, the famous pianist also performs Fender Rhodes and Hamond B-3 organ. As many previous albums, the trio format is adopted here. However, the album differs significantly from previous works, and it offers a very introspective experiment. The balance between the different instruments is particularly notable, with imaginative solos from Yoshi Waki and particularly the work of Davis on drums.

Stylus were an Australian funk, soul group which formed in 1975. They were the first Australian act to be released by Motown Records in the USA. Stylus toured supporting George Benson, Average White Band, Ike & Tina Turner, and Little River Band. According to rock music historian, Ian McFarlane, Stylus "scored a number of hit singles and became very popular on the Australian pub and concert circuit". The group disbanded in 1979 and subsequently had various reunions.

Ultimate! is a comprehensive career retrospective album by English rock group the Yardbirds. The 52-song two–compact disc compilation was released in 2001 by Rhino Records. The tracks span the period from the group's first demo recordings in 1963 to the last singles in 1968. They include all 17 of the group's singles, both A-side and B-sides, supplemented with more than a dozen album tracks, their performance for the film Blow-Up, and three early solo numbers by singer Keith Relf.
