is a character based on a real person or persons created in 1919 by pulp writer Johnston McCulley. He has been featured in several books, films, television series, and other media, including comic books. The character's visual motif is typically a black costume with a flowing Spanish cape, a black gaucho hat or Cordobés, and a black cowl mask that covers the top of the head from eye level upwards. This was mainly due to the smash 1920 Douglas Fairbanks movie , itself based on McCulley's character. With the character's visual background thus established, Zorro has appeared in many different comic book series over the decades, first in Dell Comics in 1949. The latest iteration is now published by Dynamite Entertainment, began last February 20, 2008 with writer-illustrator Matt Wagner and artist Francesco Francavilla as the creative team.

is an ongoing Marvel comic book series that reinvents the early days of an all-new, all-different X-Men, focusing on the solo adventures of green recruit Kitty Pryde and the character ranked #1 out of "Wizard Magazine's Top 200 Comic Book Characters of All Time." No wonder Wolverine has so many ongoing series at present. This series obviously is intended to broaden Wolverine's appeal to a younger demographic, and it works. Issue #21 features the single-episode "The Last Word."

Video game developer Capcom, holder of the insanely popular Street Fighter franchise, awarded UDON Entertainment the license to publish comic books based on the franchise and it is for this series that UDON became known. The comic book series draws not only on the established Street Fighter canon, but also occasionally addresses various continuity retcons, and even draws from fanon (invented or non-verified canon) and non-official sources as well. is UDON's second Street Fighter story arc, named after the then newly-released game from which it is also patterned after. is a spin-off and continuation of this second story arc and focuses on the second Street fighter tournament wherein fighters from all over the world compete to determine who is the World's Strongest. Currently the series spans through #9. Definitely not but there's something to be said for a comic that can keep you interested with a bunch of action sounds like "woomph" and battle cries like "shinryuken!" Not to mention all the whooshing high kicks, uppercuts, and back flips. It is, quite simply, thoroughly entertaining. Period.

Another all-too familiar tale made pretty good by dialogue and complementary cartoonish artwork that fits into its crossover action/horror/comedy makeup. , published by Red5 Comics, is about two brothers who own an auto repair shop and find out that monsters are indeed real and have been infiltrating their sleepy community. Not really sure if it would be something that I would go out and buy--that is supposing I have the means, but it is definitely something I'd check up on to see if it progresses, just like Top Cow's .

(complete title ) is a new series of American comic books printed by Top Cow Productions. The comic first was released in February 2009 with issue #0 on the Top Cow website and the first issue printed in June 2009. The series is produced by Milo Ventimiglia (best known for his role of Peter Petrelli on the TV series ) and Russ Cundiff of DiVide Pictures. It is authored by Rick Loverd, drawn by Jeremy Haun, colored by Dave McCaig with covers drawn by Dale Keown. The ongoing story arc revolves around the lives of Aaron and Farris who discover they have a powerfully violent and uncontrollable rage living inside them. Meanwhile, two mysterious organizations seek them out for their powerful abilities for their own purposes while Farris and Aaron struggle to come to grips with their newfound power and dangerous heritage, understandably subjects explored in the TV series . Berserker combines elements of superheroes with Norse mythology and human themes of courage and determination. So far, interesting enough that I can't wait for the next issue. Oh, and great, gory, gritty artwork.
