brings a great close to the Electro storyline and is a satisfying first chapter in series direction. Waid's work strikes all the right chords and creates an atmosphere ripe for the return of more old school Spidey villains. The art by Paul Azaceta is appropriate to the reverse-throwback tone the issue takes. His rendering of Spider-Man and Jonah hearken back to silver and bronze age depictions of the characters with a dark shadow cast over it. However the real treat in this issue was seeing Waid bring his story full circle in what amounts to a love letter to the newspaper industry and silver and bronze age comic storytelling.

The is a superhero team appearing in publications from DC Comics. The original Doom Patrol first appeared in My Greatest Adventure #80 (June 1963). The Doom Patrol has since appeared in multiple incarnations. The first Doom Patrol consisted of super-powered misfits, whose "gifts" caused them alienation and trauma. The series was canceled in 1968, and series writer Arnold Drake killed the team off in the final issue, Doom Patrol #121 (September-October 1968). In the years after this story several subsequent Doom Patrol series were launched, and each series became known by the name of the chief writer. Each series tried to capture the spirit of the original team, but the only character constant to all was Robotman. The current series, now considered as Volume 5 and also known as Keith Giffen's Doom Patrol, was released last August 5, 2009 with a cover date of October 2009.
