"The Evolutionary War" was a comic book crossover which ran through most of the Summer annuals published by Marvel Comics in 1988.
The storyline was the first of its kind. While there had been previous extended crossovers over multiple titles before it, "The Evolutionary War" was the first to take place exclusively in annuals. This format of crossover was to be repeated by Marvel a year later in 1989's "Atlantis Attacks" and was imitated by DC Comics for the first time three years later with their Armageddon 2001 crossover in 1991

This 2010 Annual, just released December 3, 2009 but with a cover date of February 2010, sets the stage for the next and logical chapter in Marvel's crossover Universe, next big event, . The creative team is composed of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Chris Bachalo. Personally, I'd have dumped this were it not for Bachalo's arrestingly moody an beautifully atmospheric visuals. I don't like Bendis' awful handling of his recent Marvel titles, and this one is no different, particularly the "surprise ending" that completely spoiled my expectations in a certain great but still ongoing Marvel miniseries. But don't mind my ramblings--see for yourself.

is a multi-awarded, long-running and still-ongoing weekly British science fiction-oriented comics anthology that serializes a number of separate stories each issue (called a "prog") that has been at the cutting edge of contemporary pop culture since it’s first publication by IPC Magazines in February 26, 1997. IPC, later Fleetway, continued to produce the title until 2000, when it was bought by Rebellion Developments. Due in part to its weekly publication schedule, it is one of only a few comics to surpass 1,600 issues. It is most noted for its Judge Dredd stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Bryan Talbot, Brian Bolland, Garth Ennis and Mike McMahon.
