Spandau Ballet are a popular British band famous in the 1980s. Initially inspired by the New Romantic fashion, they quickly steered in to a mixture of funk, jazz, soul and synthpop, then eventually mellowed into a mainstream pop act. They continued to be tagged New Romantics, though, well into the mid '80s, long after that genre had waned, and their own style had long since changed.

Time Capsule is an excellent, 18-track collection that offers a comprehensive overview of the B-52's' career, from their kitschy post-punk beginnings to their unexpected chart success in the early '90s. Along the way, all the big songs -- "Planet Claire," "Rock Lobster," "Private Idaho," "Quiche Lorraine," "Summer of Love" (in its original mix), "Channel Z," "Deadbeat Club," "Love Shack," "Roam," "Good Stuff" -- are here, making this an ideal choice for casual fans. For collectors, there are two new cuts ("Debbie," "Hallucinating Pluto") which are fine, but not particularly noteworthy outside of the fact they're only available on this disc. Then again, the very idea behind Time Capsule is to provide a concise introduction for the curious, and on that level, it works perfectly.

This CD compiles several Coleman Hawkins sessions recorded between 1939 and 1956, capturing the masterful tenor saxophonist at the height of the swing era, in the midst of the bop revolution, and at the helm of large orchestras. The earliest session climaxes with his classic solo version of "Body and Soul," a landmark in both the harmonic language of jazz and improvised musical architecture.

Deep Purple were the biggest selling album act in America when they embarked on a 28 date tour promoting their new album "Burn". The undoubted climax of this tour was headlining the California Jam Festival at Ontario Speedway in California, in front of 200,000 people. Their explosive set is presented here on DVD for the first time. The set-list includes tracks from "Burn", as well as classics like "Space Truckin" and "Smoke On The Water". As the show came to a close, Blackmore, angered by troubles backstage, took his revenge on one of the TV cameras, before exploding his amps and destroying several guitars. It made for a visually astonishing climax to the set, and almost got the band banned from playing live in America again. This fully restored edition contains a missing track, bonus camera angles, commentaries and many other bonus options.
Even with some production shortcomings, this DVD is still highly recommended. Live In California 74 documents one of the most explosive performances ever captured on film by the MKIII incarnation of this legendary band, and also provides some of the only footage available from this historic first California Jam Festival.

Barron is a hugely talented pianist - one of the best jazz pianists alive today -, and his bop-based style with flowing lyricism and unique melodic sense in in full display here. And unlike his other recent albums, this CD mostly features his beautiful interpretations of standards and ballads. Barron, George Mraz and Ben Riley sound perfectly relaxed and inspired at the same time. One can tell from this CD that they enjoyed playing together very much. This is clearly one of Kenny Barron's best albums to date!. Highly recommended!

    MP3 | 320kbps | 12:00 min | 13mb
    Genre: Heavy Metal

The German heavy metal outfit, Rage, originally formed in the early '80s, and although the group has issued albums on a steady basis ever since, lead singer/bassist Peter "Peavey" Wagner is the only original member still in attendance. First known as Avenger, the group issued a pair of recordings (Prayer of Steel and Depraved to Black) before switching their name to Rage, to avoid confusion with a British band of the same name. 1986's Reign of Fear signaled the group's first album to be released under their new name, as they continued on in the same heavy hitting musical direction on subsequent releases; although they used some orchestral flourishes on their late-'90s experimental albums Lingua Mortis (1996) and XIII (1999).
The album will be out on February 5th 2010, followed by a headliner tour a month later. The album will be also released as a limited edition digipak, along with a high quality bonus DVD with 15 songs in total.

    Progressive Rock | WavPack (Image + EAC Log + EAC Cue + 5% Recovery) | 307 Mb | Belgium

Isopoda was often considered as Belgium Seventies best Progressive band. It plays a superb sophisticated and melodious Progressive rock, based upon the combinations between vocals, guitar, keyboards and flute. Working such as a goldsmith, Isopoda composes pieces with a rare perfection, which could equal to the best Genesis, enhanced by somptuous vocals and arrangements. On this album issued in 1979, this Belgian band performed an elegant Progressive with elaborated arrangements. They played refined melodies with wonderful vocals, nice flute & guitar parts. The Genesis and Alan Parsons references are obvious: liking for velvet and refined melodies, which thanks to their fluidity, delicate accoustic parts and beauty, seduce the auditor.
