From the notes: "This volume includes two major Piano Sonatas by Sergei Prokofiev, a composer Richter knew well. Richter's only performance as conductor was in music of Prokofiev, the premiere of his Sinfonia
concertante for cello and orchestra. And although, as with all composers, Richter played only the music of Prokofiev he felt closest to, there was a great deal of this music, including the First and Fifth Piano Concertos and the Second, Fourth and Sixth through Ninth Piano Sonatas. Prokofiev gave the first perfromane of the Sixth Sonata on a radio broadcast, but Richter gave the public premiere of this Sonata, and also of the Ninth, which was dedicated to him."

Thirteen Senses are a Cornish indie/rock band. They released two albums: The UK release of their second album ‘Contact’ was in April 2007, including the hit single “All the love in your hands”. In terms of their style and sound, Thirteen Senses are quite similar to other British bands like Keane and Coldplay; but take on a wider range of influences, including Mew, Mercury Rev and a minimalist aesthetic, with their lyrics also visiting darker themes.

The Electric Prunes are an American rock band who first achieved international attention as an experimental psychedelic group in the late 1960s. Their song Kyrie Eleison featured on the soundtrack of Easy Rider. After a period in which they had little control over their music, they disappeared for thirty years, reforming as a recording and touring band in 2001. Mass in F Minor is a 1968 album by the The Electric Prunes, consisting of a musical setting of the mass sung in Latin and arranged in the psychedelic style of the band. At the time of its release it was seen as innovative and adventurous, and it was subject to further interest in 1969 when the song "Kyrie Eleison" appeared in the movie Easy Rider.
