Lou Blackburn (born November 12, 1922) was an American jazz trombonist born in Rankin, Pennsylvania who performed in several genres, especially the swing genre. He also performed in the West Coast jazz and soul jazz mediums. During the 1950s he played swing music with Lionel Hampton, and also Charlie Ventura. In the early 1960s he began performing with musicians like Cat Anderson, among others. He also appears on the album Mingus at Monterey by Charles Mingus. He also did crossover work with The Beach Boys and The Turtles, among others. Since 1970 he lived in Germany, where he toured successfully with his ethno jazz band Mombasa. 1990 he died in Berlin.

Souvenirs d'un autre monde (Memories of Another World) is the first full-length album by Alcest, released in August 2007. The album differs greatly from Alcest's earlier work, as its sound is similar to post-rock and shoegaze with very little black metal incorporated at all. Audrey Sylvain of Amesoeurs, another band featuring Neige, provides guest vocals on "Sur l'autre rive je t'attendrai." All other vocals and music were written and recorded entirely by Neige.
Serge Lama ranks among the most traditionally minded French songwriters. His strong, powerful voice, combined to his very intense and theatrical stage persona, has often earned him comparisons to Jacques Brel. He had some hit singles during the late '60s and '70s, the most famous one being "Je Suis Malade," and had a popularity peak in the '80s with the success of his musical, +Napoléon.
