is a ongoing comic book series written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by R. M. Guéra, published monthly by Vertigo Comics. Issue #1 was published on January 3, 2007. Right away the series' style can fairly be described as a fusion of film noir and western elements in a modern setting; concerning organized crime on the (fictional) Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The artist, R. M. Guéra, uses the colour brown predominantly, with blue and green monotones to emphasize starkness and aiming for a grimy, dirty look. Shadows, the desert and the glaring sun are used to emphasise a sort of stifling atmosphere. Aaron for his part intersperses many allusions to noir prose authors and to the western genre in the names of his characters and in his titles, in a sort of pop homage. Graphic and violent.

is a seminal eight-issue miniseries published by Epic Comics, an imprint of Marvel Comics, from August 1986 to March 1987. It was written by Frank Miller and illustrated by Bill Sienkiewicz. This series is part of the mainstream Earth-616 continuity. Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz were at their most popular level with comic book fans when this series was released (around the same time as Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) and it was very well received. This series is the first time that famed Bill Sienkiewicz used water colors as opposed to the traditional pencilling then inking method. His exaggerated art is unique amongst recognized comic book artists of his time. Miller's plot was considered too adult in content to be approved under the "comic book code" rating system. Instead, it was released under Marvel's affiliate Epic Comics, known for producing material that would not be appropriate for children. Even though Daredevil does not appear in this series (Matt Murdock does), I include it with the other previous posts of Daredevil because (1) Frank Miller wrote it and (2) Marvel did publish a hardcover entitled, "Daredevil/Elektra: Love and War" in 2003 that includes the original graphic novel and this miniseries.

was a trade paperback (TPB) published by Marvel in June 2002 collecting the stories originally published in 2001 single-issue comics magazine form as . Daredevil: Yellow presented another take on Daredevil's origins using letters written to Karen Page after her death as a narrative device. Here Page believes she is in love with both Daredevil and Murdock, and Nelson with Karen Page, resulting in a silent rivalry between the two men. The supervillains the Owl and the Purple Man are the antagonists. Daredevil credits Page with coining the phrase "The Man without Fear", and she also suggest to Daredevil he wear red instead of black and yellow. Daredevil's original costume, allegedly designed by Jack Kirby himself, was actually red, black and yellow and it was only in issue #7 when writer-artist Wally Wood came up with the familiar red costume. In keeping with the chosen narrative device, writers Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale retell Daredevil's origins in a deliberate, almost languid fashion, as character-driven as Frank Miller's series was. Evidently, they have succeed.

Following a virtual round-robin of writers in the year following the publication of the storyline after he left, Frank Miller returned to Daredevil to write what is now considered definitive origins story for comic books, . It was a five-issue miniseries published by Marvel Comics from October 1993 to February, 1994, and was originally intended to be a graphic novel, but was broken down into a miniseries. With artist John Romita Jr, Miller expanded upon the main character's beginnings and provided additional detail about the life and death of "Battling Jack" Murdock and Matt's first encounters with the Kingpin and Foggy Nelson. The role of Stick in the genesis of daredevil was broadened as is Matt Murdock's doomed love affair with Elektra Natchios, the daughter of a Greek diplomat.

. Good versus Evil. Mind and Soul. Stories as old as man himself. Master revisionist storyteller Frank Miller presents his own transcendent, original take on these dichotomous subjects, showing us how things just are in a Marvel Comics graphic novel featuring Daredevil.
This is the Miller Daredevil story that got away. Coming out around the same time as Miller was knocking the socks off of the comic world with the "Born Again" story in the funny book format, this oversize graphic novel slipped under many radars. Like many of Marvel's graphic novel series, this is part of the main character's continuity and follows up on events of Miller's 1st run of DD. -- Kelly Langston-Smith,

was a trade paperback (TPB) published by Marvel Comics collecting the acclaimed "Daredevil: Born Again" storyline (, cover dates Feb.-Aug. 1986) written by Frank Miller with David Mazzuchelli as artist. It marks the return of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil love interest Karen Page, and marks a new life for Matt as well. Daredevil's archnemesis the Kingpin, Hell's Kitchen and Captain America figure prominently in this landmark storyline that is more grounded on reality than any of Frank Miller's works. For many, it is the quintessential Daredevil story. And since Miller did write the best Batman story... for some, it may well be best Daredevil story.
