    Eng | RS & MU | CBR | DC Comics | June 10, 2009 | 25 Pages | 12.5 MB

is an all-ages comic book series published by DC Comics as a part of its Johnny DC imprint. The series debuted in September 2008, and is written and drawn by Mike Kunkel. In style and tone, is a followup to Jeff Smith's 2007 miniseries , as both draw upon the light, whimsical feel of the Captain Marvel comics of the Golden Age for inspiration. In Magic of Shazam!, Billy Batson is a young boy who must juggle his superheroic life as Captain Marvel with looking after his rambunctious little sister Mary Marvel. Unlike Billy, who transforms into an adult when he speaks the magic word "Shazam", Mary possesses only a fraction of his power and remains a child in her superhero form. Other Marvel Family characters are similarly re-imagined, such as Black Adam who is presented as bratty exchange student Theo Adam, a classmate of Billy. --

is the new horror/mystery series from IDW that chronicles the life of Chris Luna, a down-on-her-luck girl who transfers to Maine to start afresh as a private detective--the only thing is that she can talk to the dead and her clientele are all dead. The rather sloppily-written issue solicitation says this is a four-issue miniseries. It has been getting good reviews since its release, though, primarily on the mood and nuance writer-artist tandem of El Torres and Gabriel Hernandez set.

(Denny Colt) is a crime-fighting fictional character created by writer-artist Will Eisner. He first appeared in (June 2 1940), a seven-page insert into American Sunday-newspaper comics sections. The series was brought to DC, where it currently resides, by the one-shot (January 2007). The following month, the ongoing series debuted. It remains similar in tone to Eisner's original while updating some concepts for a 21st-century audience. Each issue usually runs a complete standalone story. Issue #29 runs the story "Neeles and Pinski."

Last year (2008) Moonstone re-launched the series as starting with Issue #0, a retelling of the the origins of the character as based on Falk's comic strips. Issue #3 is the 3rd and final part of the initial story arc entitled, "End War."
