This historical anthology presents the traditional jewish wedding music at a turning point of its history. Before its almost complete extermination during the Nazi holocaust and Stalinism it survived in the USA in the heads and hands of immigrants from Eastern Europe.

The first of three volumes in Trikont's Klezmer series puts to shame the ones issued by Yazoo and Music & Arts. These early recordings of Naftule Brandwein, Dave Tarras, Josef Solinski, Leon Ahl, Abe Schwartz, Joseph Moskowitz, and many others on this 18-track retrospective reveal the deep and ancient roots of the Lineage Stammbaum. Culled from the personal collection of klezmer historian Dr. Martin Schwartz, the music presented here traces the movement of Jewish music around Eastern Europe from 1911 to the Shoah, Stalinism, and dispersion of Jews to other parts of the world where political forces and cultural assimilation all but destroyed this great music until the 1970s when it was recorded again.

"Million Dollar Bill" is a song performed by American R&B and pop recording artist Whitney Houston, from her seventh studio album titled I Look to You. It is scheduled for release as the official worldwide lead single (second US single) from the album on August 18, 2009 through Arista Records in the US[1] and August 24, 2009 through RCA Records in the UK. The song was written by Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Alicia Keys and samples R&B singer Loleatta Holloway's "We're Getting Stronger" from Holloway's 1976 debut LP. Keys had requested to be a part of Houston's album and Houston decided she wanted to work with Keys after hearing her perform at one of Clive Davis' parties. It was produced by hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz with an old school R&B beat. The song received critical acclaim at the album's three listening parties and was cited as a "big comeback record". The single entered the Hot 100 at #100, becoming her thirty-ninth chart entry.

Mercedes Sosa was an Argentine singer who was immensely popular throughout Latin America. With her roots in Argentine folk music, she became one of the preeminent exponents of nueva canción. Nicknamed La Negra by her fans for her long, jet-black hair, she was best known as the voice of the "voiceless ones".

This album is nominated for three prizes in next month's Latin Grammy awards in Las Vegas, including album of the year and best folkloric album.
