After making a well-deserved comeback as a solid country artist in the late 60's, Jerry Lee Lewis went to England in 1973 and recorded this great album that was a welcome return to his rock n' roll roots. Lewis recorded some good albums throughout the 70's, but most of them were aimed primarily at the country music market. This is pure rock n' roll all the way, with a couple of old blues tunes thrown in the mix as well.
The London Sessions sounds like one big jam session with Jerry Lee Lewis in his prime, pounding his way through a selection of great classic tunes like Johnny B. Goode, What'd I say, Movin' on down the line, No Headstone on my grave, and Baby what you want me to do. The studio band of top British musicians lay down some strong backing to Jerry Lee's great piano playing and singing, and the spontaneous, live in the studio feel of this album is an approach that brings out the best in Jerry Lee.
Highlights include a rockin' version of Johnny B. Goode, a superior remake of his old Sun recording Drinkin' Wine spo-dee-o-dee, and a truly dynamic medley of Little Richard hits that ends it. It is great to see that this has been remastered on CD since this is probably Jerry Lee's most vibrant album and surely one of the best rock n' roll albums of 1973. Any lover of classic rock needs to get their hands on this CD. This is simply the best set of rock n' roll the Killer has recorded since his classic Sun recordings!

Exile on Main Street is the tenth studio album by English rock band The Rolling Stones. It was released as a double LP in 1972 and drew on influences from rock & roll, blues, country and soul. Initially "Exile" was greeted with lukewarm reviews, but is now widely considered among the band's finest work and one of the defining masterpieces of the rock era. In 2003, the album was ranked number 7, the band's highest position, on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Krzysia Górniak is one of the most interesting Polish jazz women. She played in many jazz clubs in Poland and across the whole of Europe (e.g. “Porgy & Bess” in Graz (Wien), “Miles Of Jazz” in Stockwerk, and “Between Us” in Berlin). She also participated in a few concert tours in Greece. Coming back to Poland, she released two records on which she was the composer, arranger and producer.

This was Istvan Kertesz' last major project. Early in the 1960s, he had conducted the Dvorřak symphonies with such authority that he recorded the complete cycle for London–an epoch-making set that's still highly recommended today. For those recordings Kertesz had the London Symphony Orchestra, but his best recordings were made in Vienna. His notorious dislike of rehearsals was bound to appeal to the equally relaxed and tradition-conscious Viennese, particularly when it came to music they knew well. What a wide range of talent is the Gerard Kleijn Group, full of vim and vigor, and it is a highly expressive jazz group. Their music is innovative and entertaining. Gerard Kleijn has a clear and mellow voice in his trumpet that is relaxing to listen to, and his fingerings open up on a straight-forward style of approach. He is one of the Netherlands finest trumpet performers and composers. Orjan Graafmans in topnotch at the piano. There are 12 songs on the CD collection. The total playing time is 70:18 minutes. Some of the songs are Cole Porter's "So in Love," the intimate "Love Is" composed by Gerard Kleijn, Billy Strayhorn's "A Flower is a Lovesome Thing," "Madam Rosa," Jules Styne's "I Fall in Love Too Easily," among other fine selections. This is the kind of trumpet music that grows on you with the passage of time, and I found each time I listened to it there was a new impression or jazz motif that made itself known to my mind. Gerard Kleijn gives performances that are sensitive, imaginative, and innovative. LOVEQUOTES is highly recommended for its clarity of vision, enjoyment, and jazz entertainment. A fine collect of songs for the jazz listening audience.
