Originally formed in 1997 by Marthus (Cradle Of Filth) in Czech Republic.Dark metal act Inner Fear continues its existence after a long hiatus, but this time recruiting absolutely new line-up from Europe. Serg of Latvian dark death metal act Preternatural has taken the position as a vocalist and Latvian gothic mistress Vic Anselmo joined the band to fulfill its music with her beautiful vocal keys…. To sustaine its metal origins Marthus has involved his long-standing friends and guitar playesr Khopec and Ashok (Root) from Czech Republic and Serhio from Latvian technical death metal scalpel Neglected Fields.

This set was a change of pace for tenor saxophonist Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. Backed by three trumpeters (Clark Terry gets some solos), a rhythm section (pianist Lloyd Mayers, bassist Larry Gales and drummer Ben Riley) and a percussion section led by Ray Barretto, Lockjaw performs four compositions by Gil Lopez (who arranged all of the selections) plus "Tin Tin Deo," "Star Eyes" and his own "Afro-Jaws." The Afro-Cuban setting is perfect for the tough-toned tenor, who romps through the infectious tunes.

At first impression, post-bop pianist/composer Baptiste Trotignon looks like a newcomer to the jazz scene, though he has recorded a number of CD since the mid-'90s as a leader on the Naive label. He will likely benefit from the wider distribution of his Sunnyside debut, which features Trotignon playing 11 originals with various lineups. A gifted pianist who shows lots of promise, Trotignon's works hold up well to repeated hearings, engaging his rhythm section and telling a story in the process, highlighted by the catchy "Mon Ange," and the wild uptempo blues "Red Light District."
