Although outspoken in his support of the post-World War I Parisian avant-garde during his youth, English composer Arthur Bliss ended his long career as a dedicated proponent of a more conservative, neo-Romantic musical aesthetic. Educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge and at the Royal College of Music (where he found his studies with Charles Stanford too stifling), Bliss' earliest music (all later withdrawn and subsequently destroyed by the composer) shows a strong knowledge of and interest in the music of Edward Elgar. After service with the Royal Fusiliers (and later the Grenadier Guards) during the War, however, Bliss' musical aesthetic changed dramatically, and he quickly became known as a thoroughly "modern" composer, owing more allegiance to the exciting happenings ……

"Tubular Bells II" is the 15th music album by Mike Oldfield, released in 1992.
The album - the first for his new record label, Warner Bros. Records, following an acrimonious departure from Virgin Records after twenty years - was conceived as a sequel to Oldfield's 1973 "Tubular Bells". Another sequel followed in 1998.

Album released in 1995 in Mexico by EMI Music Mexico, the first of two compilations, with 15 subjects among the most famous by singer-songwriter, composer and musician Joan Manuel Serrat (Barcelona, 1943) until the date of that edition. Joan Manuel is certainly internationally recognized as one of the most important figures of modern song and author both in Spanish and Catalan. The selection of items to include in this album was made entirely by himself, Serrat, which adds an interesting personal view of his choice.

Amadigi di Gaula (HWV 11) is an opera with music by George Frideric Handel. The identity of the librettist is not known for certain. Previous consensus had been that John Jacob Heidegger was the librettist, but more recent research has indicated that that the librettist was more likely to be Giacomo Rossi, with Nicola Francesco Haym as another candidate....

This first complete studio recording of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen, made between 1958 and 1966, was a groundbreaking technical and artistic achievement, the most ambitious and intricately involved opera recording project of the 20th century. Produced for Decca by John Culshaw, whose vision and untiring devotion brought the gargantuan project to completion, the 14 ½-hour release set a new standard for opera recordings. The details Culshaw lavished on the production, which included building new musical instruments, precisely calculating the placement and choreography of each singer to maximize the theatricality of each scene, and creating an array of fabulous special effects resulted in a landmark recording that has lost none of its power with the passage of time.
