This is a fantastic collection for discovering the Earache/BBC Grindcore movement start. It has some very old school heavies on it. If you are a long time fan this collection represents a good consolidated way to listen to some of the old favorites. What is most surprising about this collection is the quality of sound. These are the cleanest Peel Sessions I've ever heard. So much of the Grindcore of that era suffered from poor quality and/or muddy recording – this collection has none of that. Three CDs of cleanly recorded old school grind - hard to beat. The Bolt Thrower recordings are unbelievable in quality compared to the original recordings. This collection contains 128 tracks of the originals.

Marie-Juliette Olga Boulanger was born into a musical family. Her grandfather was a cellist, her grandmother a famous soprano (Marie-Julie Boulanger, née Hallinger), her father a composer who had won the Prix de Rome in 1835. Her mother, Countess Raissa Myshetskaya, was a professional singer, and her sister was Nadia Boulanger, who became famous as a teacher, particularly to a generation of American composers.

American composer Dominick Argento is known for music for the voice: opera, choral music, art song. Long associated with the University of Minnesota, he has attracted commissions from singers and ensembles from all over the U.S. and Europe. After serving in World War II, Argento studied composition with Nicolas Nabokov at the Peabody Conservatory and with Baltimore composer Hugo Weisgall. At Peabody, he finished undergraduate studies in 1951 and took a Master of Music degree in 1954, studying with Henry Cowell, among others. Argento also studied in Florence on three Fulbright fellowships, working with Dallapiccola, who influenced his use of 12-tone techniques. He had a lifelong affection for the city ……..

Sweden has produced a number of guitar heroes, from Yngwie Malmsteen to John Norum, but few capture the spirit of Blues-Rock like Jan Gerfast. Making good use of the standard trio formula, this retro-70s guitar god tells a familiar story with his instrument - but he tells it in his own way. The songs hold together with the cement of his fine guitar work, informed by the masters who came before him. He infuses life into every note, as if he has a special sanction or even blessing from his obvious influences - Hendrix, Trower, Marino, and Clapton. By the time the Hendrix bonus track appears at the end of the disc, you're ready for anything, and Gerfast indeed gives it to you - hard and intense, with feeling.

Listening to guitar players such as John Mc Laughlin, Pat Metheny, Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale or Allan Holdsworth Renaud Louis-Servais built his own guitar-playing style. He created the fusion band Iluna in 2000 where he met Alain Bidot-Naude (drums) and Henri Dorina (bass). The band was semi-finalist in 2008 and 2009 in ISC (International Songwriting Competition) with three of their tunes : "Theme d'iluna", "Euria" and "Gimmick". In 2010, Franck Guicherd (keyboards/trumpet) joined the band, which became the Renaud Louis-Servais Group. In 2011, the first album Iluna was recorded and mixed by Steve Prestage (Peter Gabriel, Gino Vannelli, Garry Moore) and released.
