"Dusty in Memphis" is the fifth studio album by English singer Dusty Springfield. She recorded the album at American Sound Studio in Memphis with a team of musicians and producers that included Jerry Wexler, Arif Mardin, Tom Dowd, conductor Gene Orloff, backing vocalists The Sweet Inspirations, bassist Tommy Cogbill, and guitarist Reggie Young. It featured one of her top-10 UK hits, "Son of a Preacher Man". Although Dusty in Memphis sold poorly when it was first released by Atlantic Records in 1969, the album has since been acclaimed by critics as one of the greatest records of all time and Springfield's best work. The album received a Grammy award in 2001.

Zack Logan comes from a long tradition of American singer songwriters mining a seam of blue collar, working man’s hopes and dreams. Opening with the subtle finger-picked delight ‘Annalee’ with its gorgeous string backing is reminiscent of early John Prine or perhaps a less care worn Kristofferson. So this is good stuff. It is in many ways a simple album, effective narratives driven by simple guitar lines and fiddle accompaniment, lyrically straightforward but affecting with some gorgeous warm production and a voice built for weaving acoustic stories.

"Sing It Loud" is the thirteenth studio album by k.d. lang and was released on April 1, 2011. It is her first collection of original material since 2008's "Watershed".

Rachelle Coba is a blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. In 2014, she released her debut album, Mother Blues, and is now following it up with Blink. This album features all original material, written or co-written by Rachelle Coba, the songs having a good range of moods and vibes. Joining her on this release are John Ginty on keys and percussion, Paul Kuzik on bass, and Andrei Koribanics on drums and percussion.

Except for a few minor differences a couple of different track selections, two fewer songs 20th Century Masters largely duplicates The Best of the Gap Band, which means that it isn't a bad compilation at all, just a largely unnecessary one. It's mostly a toss-up as to which is better, although The Best of the Gap Band may have a slight edge due to its inclusion of a couple of 12" versions, as well as the fact that it has two more songs than 20th Century Masters.

Add in a rhythm section that consists of bassist Pancho Tomaselli (War/PHILM) and drummer Chris Moore (Cry Wolf/Damage/DeathRiders) and you've got the majority of the musical genres hinted at covered. If the rhythm section looks familiar then you probably own the 2016 album by Project NfidelikAh a band that featured Lynch, Tomaselli, Moore and Fishbone singer Angelo Moore.

"The Brand New Heavies" is the debut album by British acid jazz and funk group The Brand New Heavies. After signing with Acid Jazz in the UK, the band released "People Get Ready" as a vinyl single backed with "Gimme One Of Those". Their next release, in 1990, was the single "Dream Come True" featuring Jay Williamson, then known as Jay Ella Ruth, on vocals. The same year, the band released their self-titled debut on Acid Jazz Records in a largely instrumental version. The 1991 US release of The Brand New Heavies on Delicious Vinyl Records reached #17 on the Billboard R&B Album charts. The release brought the band to prominence with the success of the singles "Never Stop" and "Dream Come True." The former of the two reached #3 on the US Billboard R&B singles chart. Much of their success was due in part to singer N'Dea Davenport's charismatic vocal performance and stage presence. Davenport's version of "Stay This Way" was also released as a single and reached #19 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart. In 1992 the album was released in Europe and re-released in the UK. This version of the album is a modified version of the US version, likewise with N'Dea Davenport on vocals. It opens with a new, long mix of "Dream Come True".

Concentric Circles is the 72 minute debut album by progressive UK band Oraton. Featuring a natural, honest production without use of correctional software and sample-replaced drums, the album undoubtably captures a human element that is so lacking in most genres of the current music scene, whilst still sounding tight, rehearsed and energised. With hints of grunge, rock and metal accompanying the progressive roots, the album contains 11 tracks of a sensible length (including a brief introductory track) before concluding with the 22 minute title track that closes in a fitting eponymous, lyrical fashion.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the gothic fantasy movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hostel, Cabin Fever, Hemlock Grove, The Son) who used the historic Wurlitzer pipe organ in his score, which he recorded at his new recording studio. The composer spent five years restoring the Hollywood Golden Age instrument (originally built in 1928 for Fox Studios, and used in iconic films including The Sound of Music and Journey to the Center of the Earth), which is making its first appearance in a film in 25 years.

The year 1736 was very important in the life of Bach: he was conferred the title of Royal-Polish and Electoral-Saxon Court Composer. In that same year he composed the only two autographed sonatas for flute and obbligato harpsichord. Both sonatas came to us as a step of an elaborative process which could also have consisted of a diverse instrumentation. Such a practice was of inspiration in choosing two sonatas, originally conceived for other instruments, to be inserted in a project dedicated to the equal dialogue between flute and harpsichord. We have no certainties regarding the dedicatee for the autograph sonatas. The relationship with Dresden maintained by Bach in those years, leads us to theorize that it might have been the flute virtuoso Pierre-Gabriel Buffardin, a close friend of the Bach family. The choice of the instrument for this recording is due to the eventful rediscovery in 2015 of the only known flute trademarked BUFFARDIN LES FILS. A copy of it can be heard here for the first time. This particular instrument throws new light on the works that Alessandrini and Pontecorvo have selected to record after many concerts and recording projects with Concerto Italiano.
