Marianella Rojas, known as Nella, is a Venezuelan singer, originally from Porlamar, Margarita Island, Venezuela. Her music brings together the folklore of her native land, with contemporary sounds and a strong influence of Andalusian music, sung with a personal and expressive vocal style.

On that evening in Paris, the mikes were on – to conclude a partnership between the Arte Flamenco Festival and Scala Music – but above all, they were awaiting ‘elevation’, the “duende” (a heightened state of expression or emotion) which played its part in the jam-packed auditorium. Rafael Riqueni performed his entire body of work, spanning almost forty years of composition, presented chronologically.

Recorded on 25 and 26 April 1991 at the Teatro Bulevar Casa de Cultura in Torrelones (Madrid) and originally released in October 1991, it was a respectful flamenco vision of Spanish classical music in a flamenco style. In it, Paco de Lucía performs with the Cadaqués Orchestra, conducted by Edmon Colomer, the concerto for guitar and orchestra that Joaquín Rodrigo wrote under the title Concierto de Aranjuez. To complete the album, he recorded with Juan Manuel Cañizares and Jose María Bandera three pieces, arranged by Juan Manuel Cañizares, from Isaac Albéniz's Suite Iberia. The result was absolutely devastating and is one of the best known and recognised versions of Maestro Rodrigo's masterful work.

Josee Koning, one of the most prominent ‘Brazilian’ voices in Europe, and Grammy winner Ivan Lins celebrate 25 years of friendship with a new album titled Doce Presença. The project has its roots in 2006 when the two of them performed the title track live in concert. Sixteen years later, during a walk on the beach together, Ivan wondered why the song never got released. Josee told him she was thinking of recording a new album, and Ivan decided instantly he would be the producer. To 11 new takes the 2006 live recording was added as a bonus track and a circle rounded. The year 1970 , marked an era that was dependent on the Cuban genre; however, Harlow kicked in the decade of modern salsa with this wonderfully eclectic sound. There is energy to spare in one of the earlier forms of Harlow's breezy, rambunctious '70s style. Twenty-year-old Ismael Miranda grabs honors on several self-penned tunes: the title song, "Abandonada Fue," and "Oigan Bien Mi Guaguancó" were all strong staples of Harlow's band's book. Harlow, Miranda, and his associates were among the leading New York salsa catalysts who helped to break the Cuban mold and helped push the music into newer directions. One of the key salsa records of 1970.
