is an occult and horror-themed ongoing comic book anthology series based on the classic series that ran from 1951 to 1983. It is written by Bill Willingham and Matthew Sturges (writers of the Eisner-nominated ). It debuted in July 2008, published by the Vertigo imprint of DC Comics. It features a different story each issue, told by people trapped in a "purgatory-like" House of Mystery. They are gathered in the house bar where everyone must pay for their drinks with stories, and no one can leave without being picked up by the house's mysterious coachman. None of the house's occupants are sure why some people might get to leave and others not, so each person's stay is at least ostensibly eternal until the coachman inexplicably turns up to take them away. This doesn't stop some of the inhabitants from trying to get out. One of the characters in the series, Cain (of ), continually attempts to return to the House of Mystery, his home in the Dreaming (a fictional place; a comic book location in the DC Comics Universe; the domain of Dream of the Endless in Neil Gaiman's ). Issue #18 is entitled "Academics", part three of the five-part story arc, " The Beauty of Decay."

Sir Edward Grey, a mysterious character occasionally appearing in “B.P.R.D.” and “Hellboy,” now has his own five-issue miniseries from Dark Horse with the first issue released last July 1, 2009. Written by Hellboy mastermind Mike Mignola with art by Ben Stenbeck, Witchfinder: In the Service of Angels sees the Victorian occult detective fighting against otherworldly assassins and the devious machinations of the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra. Although it has the same premise as others in Dark Horse's Hellboy Universe--paranormal investigators confronting the forces of the dark--the throwback setting to Victorian England help lend Witchfinder a fresh viewpoint, and it manages to more than hold its own. Definitely laying the groundwork for a major role for Witchfinder in an upcoming Hellboy saga.

Boogiepop Dual (ブギーポップ・デュアル, Bugīpoppu Dyuaru?), also known as Boogiepop Dual: Losers' Circus, is a manga by Masayuki Takano (author of Blood Alone), an offshoot of the Boogiepop series, a series of young adult novels by Kouhei Kadono. This work suggests that Toka Miyashita is not the only Boogiepop, and that there are many. Takano closely recreates the atmosphere created by Kouji Ogata, who illustrated the original novels and manga, though it is not known whether Takano is employing his natural style or simply imitating Ogata in the interests of continuity. His plot structure and twists are sophisticated, reproducing the interweaving of past and present that characterize Kadono's original.
