Final Crisis Aftermath: Dance #1-6 (Of 6) Complete
    Eng | RS & Hotfile | 6 CBR | DC Comics | May 20 - Oct 21 2009 | 78.4 MB Total

The third of the four six-issue miniseries to be concluded (the previous two already posted complete here in Avaxhome by yours truly). And out of the four, this one truly deserves its own title, thanks wholly to its team of writer Joe Casey and artist Chriscross. Casey can stand beside Grant Morrison (who created the Final Crisis storyline) in terms of insanely prolific imaginative output. Casey's script really along with a kinetic energy lacking in the other three aftermath titles and are filled with funny lines, subtle subtexts on the DC Comics Universe and a social commentary about superheroes in general. The hilarious, inspired narration by the Super Young Team's star, Most Excellent Superbat would even resonate with those addicted to the world of Twitter. The lush, vibrant neon colors of Chriscross imbue each scene with its own visual energy that is just perfect for the characters, the setting and the story. As a matter of fact, IGN gave the final issue #6 an "Outstanding" 9.0 rating.

IDW's G.I. Joe is a year old! And the franchise which now consists of three titles--the core series, the origins, and the side of cobra--has certainly come a long way from where it was stagnating with Devil's Due Publishing before the transfer to IDW. Oddly enough, it is with the Cobra title where the best work and output are being done. For one that structurally symmetrical Cobra one-shot published just three weeks ago (posted here in Avaxhome by yours truly) was not just special--it was, to say the least, unforgettable and outstanding. Now if they could perhaps do the same for this flagship series, to even things a bit..?

    Eng | RS & Hotfile | CBR | IDW Publishing | Oct 21 2009 | 25 Pages | 9.52 MB

Mary Shelley and Joss Whedon’s respective creations meet for the first time in turn of the century Geneva. For those unfamiliar with him, Angel is a long-lived vampire once known as the vicious Angelus before receiving a curse which granted him a soul and in turn, a conscience. In Josh Whedon’s fiction, the character has spent the last 200 years attempting to atone for the things he did as Angelus becoming, in effect, a supernatural avenger. Shelley’s monster from Frankenstein was also unburdened by conscience due to his abandonment by his creator, the doomed doctor. His subsequent crimes become the result of amorality and later bitterness at being an incomplete thing. If Angel’s greatest issue is his atonement for his past, then the monster’s is his rage at his lack of a past. Our countdown to Halloween continues! And in keeping with the occasion I'm serving up comics with the appropriate themes, as in this one-shot.

After going through various iterations and developments amidst DC Comics Universe upheavals (Power Girl is the Earth-Two counterpart of Supergirl, the first cousin of the Pre-Crisis Earth-Two Superman and a member of the Justice Society of America), which brought about a confusing mess of conflicts and in continuity, the new ongoing series will clarify these conflicts and specify her present official powers and abilities with a retelling of her formal background, re-establishing Power Girl's secret identity as Karen Starr, and reaffirming her cult status as the Blonde Superheroine with the Biggest Boobs--err... with The Best Bosom. Issue #6 concludes the 3-issue story arc, "Space Girls Gone Wild!"

Originally presented in the first online issues of , for which it won the Eisner Award for Best Web Comic, tells the story of a rock band led by charismatic but crazy Dandelion Naizen, a hyperactive singer/songwriter possessed of a mean hatred of Vikings (don’t ask) and a mission for a secret government agency that may only exist in her head. But when her band, which includes a robot bass player, is enlisted in an intergalactic battle of the bands -- emphasis on battle -- Dandelion gets to prove herself as both singer and soldier. This is Joss Whedon at his funniest and most hyperactive, with writing that bursts off the page in a way seldom seen in comics. Multiple Eisner Award winner Fábio Moon delivers the outrageous story with equal energy, as well as providing a fourteen-page look at his process, with never-before-seen character designs, page layouts, and promotional images. The eternal love triangle is the cornerstone of Archie Comics for over 65 years—and the bane of Archie Andrews' existence. In fact, over the years it has not only defined the Betty/Archie/Veronica relationship, but has even threatened to dismantle it, as in the landmark “Love Showdown” storyline from 1994 and ’95. When Archie Comics announced that Archie Andrews may finally choose between Betty & Veronica once and for all, the response from the media, fans and retailers alike was unprecedented—and with good reason! The landmark "Love Showdown" storyline threatened the certainty of the love triangle and all it stood for, nearly bringing an end to the friendships of all three characters. Without question, the “Love Showdown” was the most talked-about, most publicized and most popular Archie Comics story ever... until now. The past 15 years’ worth of love triangle status quo really could be facing extinction in a story that will rock the world of everyone in Riverdale and be sure to keep people talking for months on end--in fact, this could very well be the Archie Story of the Century. This 602nd issue, entitled (gosh!) "It's Twins!" is the third of the six-part story arc with the succeeding three issues to be released every four weeks thereafter.

is a multi-awarded, long-running and still-ongoing weekly British science fiction-oriented comics anthology that serializes a number of separate stories each issue (called a "prog") that has been at the cutting edge of contemporary pop culture since it’s first publication by IPC Magazines in February 26, 1997. IPC, later Fleetway, continued to produce the title until 2000, when it was bought by Rebellion Developments. Due in part to its weekly publication schedule, it is one of only a few comics to surpass 1,600 issues. It is most noted for its Judge Dredd stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Bryan Talbot, Brian Bolland, Garth Ennis and Mike McMahon.
