On his second solo outing, Danny Wilde really delivered the goods with "Any Man's Hunger". For starters, it featured the biggest hit of his solo career, Time Runs Wild (Mainstream Rock #15) and the album itself landed in the Billboard Top 200. But in addition to being the most successful of his 80s solo albums, it is also arguably his best 80s album from start to finish. The writing, the hooks, and the craftsmanship are all in top form and there are more than a handful of songs that you won't be able to get out of your head. "Any Man's Hunger" is quite simply a great rock record–-and a nice slice of Americana (although recorded in London.)

CURTIS is the first solo album by R&B/soul legend Curtis Mayfield. After leaving the Impressions, Mayfield began to write lyrics that were more politically charged. With the 1970 release of CURTIS, he became one of the most important socially conscious artists of his generation. The album's opener, "(Don't Worry) If There's a Hell Below We're All Going to Go" uses racial epithets openly, as Mayfield asserts the shiftlessness of America. Set to a funky groove, with smart horn arrangements and wah-wah guitar, this song is a brazen attack on social mores, racism, the Vietnam War, religious impropriety, and Nixon-era politics.

World in Motion is the ninth album by American singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1989 (see 1989 in music). It peaked at number 45 on The Billboard 200 and was Browne's first album to obtain neither Gold nor Platinum status. The album took three years to complete and makes statements about nuclear disarmament and the "secret" government that brought forth Oliver North and the Iran-Contra scandal.

Aces High is a hard rockin' heavy metal band from Sweden. This is an amazing hard rock album! Big guitars with a really 'fat' sound, powerfull and passionate vocals, great songwritting, huge hooks and choruses and an overall a tight band with a strong production. One of the strong points of the band is that Aces High can really write some huge ballads!

This two-disc collection is a perfect introduction to the Church for new fans, given all the many singles collected from Of Skins and Heart up through Heyday, along with an album cut or two. As an overview of the band's evolution from catchy postpunk pop to its own thrilling musical recipe, along with some amusing liner notes from Kilbey song per song, it's a definite winner. But hardcore fans will want this collection as well for an even stronger reason – the inclusion of many B-sides not collected anywhere else. Ranging from the randomly goofy to the sublime, they give a great peek into the band's diversions and experiments over its first few years.

Perhaps the most difficult thing in writing about a box set like this is how to convey in words – few or many – the magic, wonder, and intimidating musicianship that is contained on these recordings. Over four CDs, the seeds, roots, branches, and trees of a musical partnership were formed and lived out on the public stage, and remain all but unknown to those who were not country music fans during the era. While one Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant compilation has appeared on Razor & Tie, as a single disc it only begins to offer the legend of this pair of musical innovators.

"Early Warnings: '92~'95" - Japanese Exclusive Coupling collects songs from the band's first two albums as well as some live material. It features 16 tracks of ultra melodic hard rock, and is the perfect album for anyone unfamiliar with the band's work.

After the runaway success of the Allman Brothers' classic Brothers and Sisters LP – an album on which Dickey Betts virtually architected the open loping country sound with his newly found singing voice and easy, slimmed down guitar style – the guitarist decided to try his hand at a solo album. Highway Call is, in essence, the second chapter in Betts finding his own voice as not only a singer, but also as a songwriter as well…

Broer’s (b.1942) three-movement Symphony for String Orchestra illustrates his intense and expressive style, contrasted with passages of soulful lamentation, whirling structures, and whimsical rhythms. The angular, dark, and fluid qualities of the strings showcase his bold and often frenzied composition. In Zephyr, Coble (b. 1959) uses a multi-layered narrative to emphasize his management of tension, resulting in passages of mounting and waning intensities as well as moments that suggest rolling clouds forming into an unexpected storm. Written for solo violin and orchestra, The Luminous Mystery by Yip (b. 1971) draws inspiration from five mysteries of Catholicism. This single-movement secular piece explores these mysteries by creating a variety of tone colors and textures that culminate with a radiant intensity.
