TUCK FROM HELL, the young, angry Swedish thrash sensation, fronted by singer Niklas Tuck Ingels, has signed a deal with German label Metalville and the debut album, "Thrashing". Welcome to the mosh….
Hate is a four piece extreme, yet experimental Death Metal band hailing from Poland and Erebos is their seventh album."'Erebos' is going to contain extreme metal to the full with different musical styles incorporated. We explore areas that have not been associated with HATE before, and what we have created is a mixture of styles all packed in an extreme and vicious form. It is still 100 percent HATE, but more elaborate, sophisticated and, in a way, redefined.
Neural Code presents a thrilling mixture of instrumental rock and jazz, creating a contemporary Brazilian sound. Among these three major Brazilian musicians you will find Cuca Teixeira, a drummer trained in jazzistica, he has worked with geniuses of jazz such as Joe Lovano, Michel Brecker and George Benson as well as artists such as Paula Lima, and Maria Rita, Marina Lima, Kiko Loureiro, guitar virtuoso of a rock and fusion, Kiko has been with the band Angra for the past 17 years. Thiago Espirito Santo, the renowned bass instrumentalist of contemporary Brazilian music joins the trio with his distinctive style of playing and has worked alongside musicians such as the Hamilton Holland, Yamandu Costa, Toninho Horta and Hermeto Pascoal.
In their first work the trio presents eight novel compositions designed in a series of informal meetings. Creating a unique experience for all. It was possible to develop a completely new language, drawing the best from each musician and his influences in the course of each of their respective careers. Thus was born the sound of the Neural Code.
Nacho Sotomayor was born in Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén, Spain) in 1966. During two decades he combined the experimentation in the area of digital computing and electronic musical treatments with his studies of Philosophy and Arts.
In 2006, Nacho and his brother Francisco founded their own record label “Absolut Ambient”, a project that is much more emotional than comercial, and which beds on fresh and daring electronic music.
Beluga is a soulful easy-listening rock duo from Quebec, give it a try :)
S.O.S., the eagerly awaited fourth album of Diam's, finds her recoiling from the remarkable success she'd experienced with her previous album, Dans Ma Bulle (2006). With a couple songs clocking in around ten minutes (most notably the album-opening "I Am Somebody") and precious few hooks or melodies, S.O.S. is a difficult album and rather depressing. Its title is fitting, as this music is a cry for help, a plea from Diam's for widespread societal change.
One of the coolest Christmas compilations you could ever hope to own – but you probably guessed that already, from the cover image that pays tribute to a classic set from James Brown! The JB image is certainly well placed – as most of the tracks here are deeply funky Holiday tunes – the kind of gritty seasonal ditties that were only ever issued as funky 45s back in the day – and most really only on a local level, too! Strut's really outdone themselves with this excellent collection – as it features a fair bit of Christmas rarities we've never heard before, but which are totally wonderful – all-new tunes, not common Christmas cover versions – played and performed with a hell of a soulful feel throughout. Knock that ol' Bing Crosby record off the turntable, and give this one plenty of spins this December – and dammit, the music's so great, you may well find yourself playing the collection well into the New Year too!
It’s seldom that an album combines fine tunes, inspired blowing, and creative and dynamic interaction to the extent these sides do. They satisfy my emotional cravings and at the same time keep me intellectually involved… Scofield should be applauded for putting it together.
