Really nice work from The Four Tops - proof that they were still going quite quite strong after Motown! The album's got a hip sound that shows the group moving through a wider range of emotions than we ever remember – crafting rich deep harmonies that still stand apart from the big wave of sweet soul quartets of the early 70s, and which sparkle with all the emotion that Levi Stubbs' voice had to offer.This album had never been released on CD.The rip is from LP in mint condition.Special thanks to the original uploader.

A few of the songs on this collection stand out. Billy Sherwood & Alan White & Chris Squire's rendition of Comfortably Numb, Tommy Shaw & Tony Levin & Edgar Winter's take on Money, and Us and Them as versioned by Out of Phase. Each artist sticks as close to Pink Floyds original intent, but adds some interesting tidbits that are nice to listen to.

The second half of the February, 1972 Paris concert is much more aggressive than the first. Starting with Evans' challenging "Twelve Tone Tune," the trio (with Eddie Gomez and Marty Morell) plays a much more varied set that better demonstrated their abilities. Also excellent are the especially subdued arrangement of Denny Zeitlin's "Quiet Now" (a favorite of Evans throughout his career) and Evans' "Very Early," which is a great feature for Eddie Gomez. The bittersweet interpretation of another original, "Time Remembered," is a prime example of why Bill Evans was widely admired, both as a composer and as a pianist.

It's a much-welcome breath of fresh air to see Celtic and New Age done so well. So many "Celtic" releases are in fact substandard New Age treacle with anonymous vocals and synth instruments, but here we have 32 outstanding tracks that capture the lyric, melancholy beauty of the Irish nature, recorded by masters of the trade (the Chieftains have been around for more than three decades!).
