American folk singer/songwriter Josephine Foster teams up with a band led by Spanish singer/guitarist Victor Herrero for Anda Jaleo, which is a new version of the collection of Spanish folk songs called Las Canciones Populares when it was recorded in 1931 by Federico García Lorca, who collected the songs, and the group La Argentinita. Although the songs do not have any overt political content, they were banned under the Franco dictatorship and have been identified with the Spanish Civil War.

Bent Fabric, the Danish songwriter and pianist who scored an international hit in 1962 with "Alley Cat," brought his music to a new generation of listeners with this album. Jukebox finds the 80-year-old composer collaborating with a handful of young pop, R&B, and electronic artists who take his melodies into a new and progressive, dance-friendly direction. Jukebox features collaborations with Soren Rasted of Aqua, Nellie Ettison, Lina Rafn, and Paw Lagermann of Infernal, and Remee. Selections include "It Feels Like Love," "Shake," "Bam Boogie," "Keep on Rising," "Just Be There For Me" and more.

Symphony No.6 (Op.58, 1896) created by A. Glazunov only a year after Symphony No.5, is distinguished among his other symphonies by its dramatic psychology, passionate agitation, particularly in the 1st movement. The 2nd and 3rd movements — Tema con variazioni and Intermezzo — are distinguished by light and clearness of colouring, even by a slight touch of chamber. The CD also features the symphonic miniatures by A. Glazunov: arrangement of «Volga Boatmen's Song» (1905), Serenade No.1 (Op.7) one of the earliest works of the composer, dated back to 1883 and Characteristic Dance (Op.68) composed in 1899.

Beyond representing the best in '60s California pop, the Association blazed trails in album production and the folk-psychedelia genre. With the guidance of L.A. producers Bones Howe, Curt Boettcher, and Jerry Yester, the band deftly mixed airy harmonies, unobtrusive rhythm tracks, and subtle "Age of Aquarius" accents from harpsichords, Farfisa organs, fuzz-box guitars, trumpets, and bongos – at times, the sophisticated blend was held together by L.A. session players. A great introduction to the band's prime work from the latter half of the '60s.

Knives Don't Have Your Back is the first album to be officially released by Canadian singer/songwriter Emily Haines (and the Soft Skeleton). The album was released in September 2006 on Last Gang Records. It debuted at 28 in Canada and has sold 20,000 copies there. She has stated that Metric is still her first priority. The album is a collection of piano-driven songs backed with soft strings and horns and is said to feature guest spots by Sparklehorse's Scott Minor, members of Stars, Broken Social Scene and Metric.
