The work which conductor Evgeni Svetlanov has been carrying on together with the USSR Symphony Orchestra has no analogy in the recording business. They have recorded "Anthology of Russian Symphony Music", and all symphonies by A. Glazunov concluded this unique work.
"Karelian Legend" (Op.99,1916) is one of the last works by A. Glazunov. Karelian folk fairy-tales inspired the composer to write it. Music of the Legend is remarkable for its splendour and ornament. Here Glazunov used various orchestral effects being in perfect command of them.

The twelve new tracks are all hit and offer a mix of traditional ('Siehst du das Licht' und 'Auge um Auge') and surprisingly hard numbers, such as the first single 'Zigeunerskat', or the dark 'Unsichtbar' to where the last unicorn with Mille (KREATOR) duel. Hart and atmospheric sounds of the title song 'iron star', together with the male rockers 'Viva La Vida', which is about sleepless nights. In contrast, the poppy, but anthemic 'Hol die Sterne', in which the Graf (Unheilig) as guest singer for goosebumps provides, as well as the dreamy' Zauberspruch No. VII '. Finally there is the swaying and cuddle number 'Ich vermisse dich', which enjoyed guaranteed and satisfied souls will be left. In Extremo did everything right and once again outdone themselves!

Mingus is a true original, and THE CLOWN is an album on which his genius for melding tradition with experimentation is particularly pronounced. In the stunning "Haitian Fight Song," the track which opens the album, there are strains of indigenous folk styles and church music pastiched with raw-nerve intensity and compositional sophistication. Mingus's bass, in particular, in its strident manipulation of the fretboard and powerful sound, seems to express the emotional ferocity which propels the track.

From the very beginning Gotthard has specialized in upbeat, catchy, feel-good, melodic rock & roll. Gotthard's self-titled debut might not have stood out from the crowd much in 1992, given the sheer volume of bands playing melodic rock at the time, but it would prove to be the launching point of one of Switzerland's most successful bands ever, and one of the few bands from that era that has continued to serve up high quality melodic rock year after year.

This splendid-sounding CD reissues a 1962 set from the Roy Haynes Quartet – which, at the time, consisted of Haynes, Henry Grimes on bass, Tommy Flanagan on piano, and Roland Kirk on saxes, manzello, stritch, and flutes.
