Mozart in Egypt is a 1997 album by various artists, and arranged by French musician Hughes de Courson. It represents a fusion of Mozart's work with the sounds, rhythms and instruments typical of contemporary Egyptian music.The album saw considerable success in continental Europe, especially France. In August 2005 a second volume was released in Europe only, entitled Mozart in Egypt 2.

Nachblut means “night blood” in their native German and is a pretty good summation of the band’s mood. The song titles and lyrics, courtesy of multi-talented vocalist Askeroth, are also in German. They call themselves ‘dark metal’, but to me, Dogma is a seamless welding of Neue Deutsche Härte (“new German hardness”) and melodic black metal. Think Rammstein meets Dimmu Borgir, or Oomph! meets Cradle of Filth. They give off really powerful, vampiric vibes, with accompanying album art, makeup, and diegesis.

The Jazz Baroness tells the moving story of Pannonica Rothschild (‘Nica’ for short) and her great love for the jazz pianist-composer Thelonious Monk. Directed by Nica’s great-niece, Hannah Rothschild, the documentary features the voice of Oscar winner Helen Mirren who reads Nica’s words. Shown as part of the BBC’s Storyville season, on HBO and at international film festivals, The Jazz Baroness will be released on DVD by 3DD Productions on 30th April 2012.

Paul Gerhardt (12 March 1607 – 27 May 1676) was a German hymn writer. Gerhardt is considered Germany's greatest hymn writer. Many of his best-known hymns were originally published in various church hymnbooks, as for example in that for Brandenburg, which appeared in 1658. The first complete collection is the Geistliche Andachten, published in 1666-1667 by Ebeling, music director in Berlin. No hymn by Gerhardt of a later date than 1667 is known to exist.
