James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1966. Though the band was not a huge commercial success, the fame garnered by guitarist Joe Walsh (who replaced the original guitarist in 1968) has since made the group more notable. After the group split in early 1977, there have been reunion concerts at various times in 1996, 1998, 2001, and 2005–2006. The founding members of the band were drummer Jim Fox, bassist Tom Kriss, guitarist Ronnie Silverman, keyboardist Phil Giallombardo, and guitarist Glen Schwartz. – Both Newborn and its follow-up Jesse Come Home have been reissued on one CD by Wounded Bird Records.

As the ‘70s wore on, British glam rockers Geordie were looking less like contenders and more like pretenders with each passing day. Their first two albums had yielded no certifiable hits, and thus the early promise they'd shown had been gradually overshadowed by accusations that they were nothing more than a second-rate Slade. So, needless to say, the pressure was on as the quartet prepared to release its third studio long-player – the falsely confident of named Save the World – in 1976, which may well explain why its songs pointed in several distinct directions.

Angels Cry is the debut album of Brazilian metal band Angra. It was released in 1993 and recorded in Germany at Kai Hansen's studios in Hamburg.Despite being featured in the inlays and photo shoots for the album, drummer Ricardo Confessori did not play on the album as he was not a member of the band at the time of recording, with the majority of drum duties handled by Alex Holzwarth, while Thomas Nack (at the time a Gamma Ray member) played on "Wuthering Heights".The first Angra drummer Marco Antunes appears on the back sleeve & inlays of the Japanese first press of Angels Cry in place of Ricardo Confessori but is not featured on the album either.

Calliope are a five piece band from Italy who really pay their respects to the golden era of RPI with their vintage keyboards (moog, Hammond, mellotron) and strong Italian vocals. They were found in Turin in 1989 (there are rumours that they were a find of Beppe Crovella,former member of ''Arti e Mestieri'') by keyboardist Rinaldo Doro. The band recorded a 4-track demo,before they were joined by singer Massimo Berutti. In 1992 their debut ''La Terra Dei Grandi Occhi'' was pressed by Vinyl Magic. The result is music that has distinct echoes of the ‘invisible soundtracks’ of UK progressives Cinematic Orchestra and Portishead. Dipping into a diverse world of trip-hop, jazz and drum and bass rhythms, the record is influenced as much by the Cinematic Orchestra and Portishead as by James Blake and Bonobo, this music is both ethereal and visceral, brimming with real emotion and restless intelligence.
