Born in South Central Los Angeles, the saxophonist idolized James Brown and took much influence from Maceo Parker and Cannonball Adderley. He first made a name for himself within the music industry during the '80s, when he became a highly requested session musician.

A Case for the Blues is a blues album by Katmandu, a British band made up of successful musicians from differing musical backgrounds, including Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, Ray Dorset of Mungo Jerry and Vincent Crane of Atomic Rooster. Released in 1985, this was the only album by the band. Recorded in 1983 Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, Ray Dorset aka Mungo Jerry and Atomic Rooster's Vincent Crane gathered in Ray Dorset's garden studio over a period of six weeks to rehearse, jam and record this excellent set of blues standards and self written material. Helped by Greg Terry-Short on drums and Jeff Whittaker percussion - Green's pure guitar, Dorset's gruff vocals and Crane's tasteful keyboards blended in perfect style.

Basically a recording of New Model Army's semi-acoustic show that toured the U.S. in Spring 2004. The shows were so powerful that you didn't even miss the rest of the band. This CD captures the music as if you are there. There are NMA songs as well as Justin's solo stuff, and all of it is awesome. Besides, there is no such thing as a "not so good" NMA or Justin Sullivan album.

This is yet another abstract jazz CD that one must thank all the gods and goddesses was executed in trio format because the addition of even one more player would've ruined the odd, fascinating, and mercurial idiosyncracies running through the repertoire. On his last CD, Sivan's debut, critics lauded him as "the next guitarist of our times" and someone who would "transform the jazz guitar world" because he's an "intense" cat. He's none of that, is in fact so cool that I'm often reminded, when he's in lay-out mode, of a combination of Chet Baker's singing and Gabor Szabo's playing.

Drawing inspiration from classic blues artists like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and Skip James, and from contemporary acoustic singer/songwriters like Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, and Tallest Man On Earth, Gallagher writes music that tends to combine genres. He steals from the blues it's structure, it's raw simplicity, and it's unapologetically honest sensibility. He favors acoustic performances because of their unfiltered sincerity. All That's Ahead represents a musical collaboration between Gallagher and his wife, Megan Hilty, whose voice is heavily featured on the record. It reflects on the familiar theme of relationships at their most emotional moments; euphoric beginnings and ill-fated demises.
