In the mid-'50s, guitarist Tal Farlow led one of his finest groups, a drumless trio with pianist Eddie Costa and bassist Vinnie Burke. The same band would record the album Tal a week or two later. With Burke contributing a constant walking bass, the interplay between Farlow and Costa is always exciting, whether they are playing unisons or trading off. This 1999 CD reissue not only has the original seven selections but "Gone With the Wind" (which was left off of the original LP due to lack of space) plus three full-length alternate takes that are basically on the same level as the masters…

Originally from Montana, but now living, performing, and teaching in San Diego, this is Kristin Korb's first album. Not possessed with an especially powerful set of vocal chords, Korb nonetheless weaves delicate figures with a clear, cool, almost vibrato-less voice. Scatting, but not to the point where lyrics are entirely ignored, she's a pleasant, if not overwhelming, addition to the world of jazz vocals. Korb is joined on this session by the dean of bass players, Ray Brown, and his trio that features the outstanding, hard driving piano player Benny Green, an outstanding soloist in his own right. The trio is augmented by two veterans, Plas Johnson on tenor sax and Conte Candoli on trumpet. Johnson, unfairly, is pretty much known for his work on Henry Mancini's Pink Panther. He has done much more and better work, such as with T-Bone Walker…

It is a pity that most music lovers know Boccherini mainly (and sometimes only) for the humorous little minuet that appears in The Ladykillers and countless other films. These symphonies are charming and delightful and filled with some of the same humor exemplified by the minuet.

"In For a Penny" is a single from rock band Slade which appeared on the album Nobody's Fools. It was written by lead singer Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea. The single was released in 1975 and peaked at #11 in the UK, spending 8 weeks on the chart. The track itself is notable for being the only track in Slade's career to feature accordion, played by bassist and keyboardist Lea, though Holder mimed the part on a concertina when the band performed the song on TV. Record Mirror magazine voted the single #6 on the top 10 best singles in February 1976. The first 30,000 copies of the single had a picture sleeve.

This is an excellent 2 disc collection of 2 live performances, one in '91 and the other in '02. both recordings and performances are excellent! The '91 show focuses on their first three releases while the '02 show has the Blind Dogs line up. The discs comes with a booklet. not much info in it but lots of pictures from the band. I love caravan's music. Richard Sinclair's vocals are so smooth and beautiful. I don't think he could sing a bad song ever. I enjoy the band's playing and violin work. This release is a pleasant surprise as i was thinking it would be bootleg quality, but it isn't.

When David Sanborn debuted on Elektra with Another Hand after a 13-year stay at Warner Bros., the altoist swore off formulaic, radio-oriented muzak and vowed to make artistic considerations his main priority. There's nothing shallow or contrived about the album, an exploratory, heartfelt effort generally defined by his introspective, soulsearching improvisations. Sanborn tends to be reflective rather than extroverted – an exception being the soul-jazz gem "Hobbies."

No stressed out mind could resist this.

    Death Metal

Cannibal Corpse is an American death metal band from Buffalo, New York. Formed in 1988, the band has released thirteen studio albums, two box sets, four video albums and one live album. The band has had little radio or television exposure throughout its career, although a cult following began to build after the release of the 1991 album Butchered at Birth, and 1992 album Tomb of the Mutilated. As of 2015, they had achieved worldwide sales of two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them one of the top-selling death metal bands of all time. The members of Cannibal Corpse were originally inspired by thrash metal bands like Slayer and Kreator, as well as other death metal bands such as Morbid Angel, Autopsy and Death. The band's album art (most often by Vincent Locke) and lyrics, drawing heavily on horror fiction and horror films, are highly controversial. At different times, several countries have banned Cannibal Corpse from performing within their borders, or have banned the sale and display of original Cannibal Corpse album covers.
