Born and raised in Philadelphia, Grammy Award winner BILLY PAUL began singing at the age of 12 and sometimes performed on local radio shows. Drawing inspiration from his family's collection of 78's, Paul would incorporate Jazz, R&B and Pop into his style, resulting in a unique sound that became synonymous with Philadelphia International Records throughout the 1970's. Billy became well known on his local circuit, singing in clubs and later around college campuses all over the country, which later led to him performing live with some of the biggest names in black music of the 60's and 70's including Dinah Washington, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and Roberta Flack to name a few.

Afro-Cuban is an album by American jazz trumpeter Kenny Dorham. The first release of the album dates back to 1955 on 10" Vinyl, featuring only four tracks and having a different cover artwork. Two years later, Blue Note decided to add three tracks and issue an LP (see below for details). After publishing a 2003 RVG edition which featured two additional pieces and a different track listing, Blue Note remastered and recompiled Afro-Cuban in 2007, restoring the original track order.

Multi-instrumentalist Franck Carducci (bass, keyboards, guitar, drums, etc.) grew up in a family where music is a way of life. At the age of 5 he made his first experiences with a Hammond organ, proceeded to learn the guitar later on and joined the first rock band when he was 14 years old. Little by little, he strived towards music that, while still being accessible, is also structurally more complex with different atmospheres. After becoming infatuated with bands like Pink Floyd and Genesis he embedded progressive rock into his heart and his soul.
