Cool Struttin' is a 1958 album by jazz pianist Sonny Clark. Described as an "enduring hard-bop classic" by The New York Times, the album features alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, trumpeter Art Farmer and two members of the Miles Davis Quintet, drummer Philly Joe Jones and bassist Paul Chambers. According to The Stereo Times, the album enjoys "a nearly cult status among hardcore jazz followers", a reputation AllMusic asserts it deserves "for its soul appeal alone".

I actually bought the CD "Ray Conniff: The Happy Sounds…/The Way We Were" as a gift for a family member. Listening to it with him, I realized how much talent was involved in the who orchestration of this CD. Conniff, a band musician first, never fails to deliver, not just vocal, but orchestral quality on this CD. The singers' rendition of the "Way We Were" is one of the best ever done.

D is the debut album of composer Deuter, released in 1971 through Kuckuck Schallplatten.Beginning with moody bass and guitar plucking that wouldn't be a fraction out of place on albums by fellow German musicians like Ash Ra Tempel, D finds Deuter as both an accomplished composer and self-producer. It's not about simply technical virtuosity, of course, as the music throughout D demonstrates. At once epic in scope and with a sly, careful sense of entrancement, this is psychedelic music in the immediately post-psych world. The multi-part "Babylon," which takes up most of the album's first half, exhibits as much metallic flash and snarl on guitar as it does drowsy, dreamy studio treatment; keyboards are mixed with an endless amount of backwards taping.

The debut album from these Glaswegian/Scottish neo-progsters follows the usual prog path from the 1980s. The songs are pretty light melodic and not overly complicated. The sound is surprisingly good. Most of all; they sounds like a melodic version of Marillion.

When Jerry Hall, front-cover model on Roxy's Siren, left Ferry for Mick Jagger, his response was this interesting album, not a full success but by no means a washout. In part Ferry returned to the model of his solo work before In Your Mind, with half the tracks being covers of rock and soul classics…
