Finnish power metallers BURNING POINT are an active part of the European Metal scene since the late 90’s. Led by mastermind Pete Ahonen, the band has released five studio albums since then, all to critical acclaim. In 2014, Ahonen (who was responsible for vocals and guitars) asked former Battle Beast singer Nitte Valo to join the band as new vocalist. As Nitte loved Burning Point’s music ever since, she agreed and is now a steady member of the band. Now the first album with Nitte has been recorded: simply titled “Burning Point”, the CD includes five brand new songs and six BURNING POINT classics in re-recorded versions.

Moonbeam presents the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the movie III, directed by Pavel Khvaleev. The story is about two sisters who promise to look after one another during a mysterious epidemic. When one falls ill, the other must use an old ritual and a Shamonic book to enter her sister's subconscious and destroy the evil. With more than a 10-year experience in creating and releasing electronic dance music under the name of Moonbeam, the soundtrack for the movie III became a real experiment with many different styles. The brothers of Moonbeam combined a lot of live instruments with electronic analog synthesizers, which created a quite bombastic and special atmosphere.

Stack Waddy's debut album is one of the "must hear" discs of the early 1970s, an uncompromising roar that might cavort through that shell-shocked no man's land that sprawls between Captain Beefheart and the Edgar Broughton Band, but which winds up defiantly beholden to absolutely nothing else you've ever heard – one reason, perhaps, why the group vanished with so little trace…

"Felix August Bernhard Draeseke was a composer of the "New German School" admiring Liszt and Richard Wagner. He wrote compositions in most forms including eight operas and stage works, four symphonies, and much vocal and chamber music.During his life, and the period shortly following his death, the music of Draeseke was held in high regard, even among his musical opponents. His compositions were performed frequently in Germany by the leading artists of the day, including Hans von Bülow, Arthur Nikisch, Fritz Reiner, and Karl Böhm. However, as von Bülow once remarked to him, he was a "harte Nuß" ("a hard nut to crack") and despite the quality of his works, he would "never be popular among the ordinary"." ~Wikipedia

Ravi Shankar has been described as one of the greatest musicians on the planet. This record, one of his classic World Pacific albums, clearly lends credence to that statement. But the thing that makes this record interesting is the fact that it contains a unique fusion of Shankar and his group performing with respected jazz flutist Paul Horn. It's an extremely gratifying combination, and Horn plays with a true jazzman's restraint on the five short selections that open the record.

Fingerprint (1993). For the second Egoband effort the leading duo of Alessandro Accordino and Alfonso Capasso recruited guitarist Simone Coloretti and drummer Andrea Brogi in the place of Massimo Fava and Fabio Cioni respectively. In the meantime the band had signed a new contract with Mellow Records and the recordings of ''Fingerprint'' took place just 20 km far from their hometown, at MIDI Studios in Pisa, between April and May of 1993. While the band showed no signs of changing any direction, musically speaking, there was a bit of downfall in the inspiration level. The compositions remain well-crafted, well-executed and balanced between mellow and richer parts, always maintaining this evident Marillion vibe…

Part of a series of previously unreleased live recordings in Paris featuring legendary names in jazz. Quincy Jones was based in Paris in 1960 and these concerts offered contrasting numbers, both big band arrangements and a return by Nat King Cole to the jazz trio format with which he first made his name. The association of Jones and Cole was a natural one as both men were jazz musicians with a feel for popular music.

It's called Van Halen II not just because it's the band's second album but because it's virtually a carbon copy of their 1978 debut, right down to how the band showcases their prowess via covers and how Eddie Van Halen gets a brief, shining moment to showcase his guitar genius…

The collaborations on Return of the Tender Lover and the design of its production feel traditional, in the sense that they don't attempt to update Babyface's sound and instead lean comfortably on a long, established career. This dedication to tradition and honoring of his craft is less a throwback than a micro-adjustment of an enduring formula.
