With the exception of a few of Bach's more famous compositions, Rameau's Pieces de Clavecin have received more attention over the years than any other Baroque keyboard works–and for good reason: they're extraordinarily diverse, imaginatively conceived, consummately stylish, and most importantly, they demand interpretive prowess on the part of the performer. For many harpsichordists a Rameau cycle represents what a Beethoven symphony cycle would for most conductors–the crowning achievement of the genre, since what a performer brings to Rameau reveals not only his level of technical virtuosity but even more so his ability to creatively exploit the infinite opportunities inherent in Rameau's innovative scores.

The perfect album for a day at the beach, Rea's eighth album takes the listener from the water's edge of the title song to the sunny fields of the French countryside in "Giverny." The upbeat reggae feel of "Lucky Day" works particularly well, but it is "On the Beach" that's the standout track. Rea seems to think so, too, as he's recorded it numerous times. The version here, though, is the most evocative, a little slower and more meditative than others. The lyrics, as in many of his songs, deal with remembrance and old love. "Little Blonde Plaits," "Hello Friend," and "It's All Gone" are other examples of this theme that appear on the album. While his later release, The Road to Hell, shows the darker side of Rea's worldview, On the Beach is an excellent introduction to his brighter, more optimistic songwriting. The last three songs are bonus tracks that were not on the original LP release, "Bless Them All" being a smooth, fluid instrumental.

Starting in 1994 as a producer and DJ, Ralph Knobloch founded the project Rastaliens together with his friend Jay. The latest album "Back on Earth" was releases on Phar Psyde Records in 2007. In 2003, when he moved to Switzerland with his wife, he decided to start his own project Braincell. The first album "Universal Language" was released on Glowing Flame Records in 2005, which was followed by an impressive string of releases on various compilations and labels. In 2007 the second album "Transformation of Reality" came out and the 3rd album "Frequency Evolution" will be released in September 2008 on Glowing Flame Records…

"Wide Awake in Dreamland" is Pat Benatar's seventh studio album, and her eighth album overall, released in 1988. After a string of successful albums, this was her last rock-oriented album of the 1980s, before she would go on to try a blues-based sound with True Love in 1991. The album's lead single "All Fired Up" peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #25 on the Cash Box Top 100. It was her final entry on both charts. The album was cerified Gold by the RIAA and eventually sold approximately 700,000 copies in the United States.
