    John Debney is attached to score Walt Disney Pictures’ upcoming film adaptation of The Jungle Book. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens) and stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The film’s voice talent includes Bill Murray as Baloo, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha and Christopher Walken as King Louie.     James Newton Howard is currently scoring the upcoming fantasy adventure The Huntsman. The film is a prequel/spin-off to the 2012 feature Snow White and the Huntsman and is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan who served as the visual effect supervisor on Rupert Sanders’ original movie and makes his feature directorial debut with the project. Chris Hemsworth returns to star in the title role and is joined by returning cast members Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and Nick Frost, as well as new additions Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Colin Morgan, Sheridan Smith, Rob Brydon and Alexandra Roach. No plot details have been announced yet. Joe Roth who has worked with Howard on films including Maleficent, Freedomland, America’s Sweethearts and The Great Debaters returns as the producer. The composer has previously scored the 2012 original film, on which he also collaborated with Florence + The Machine for an end titles song.

    Material is the 2016 album from Davey Havok and Jade Pugets electronic alter ego, Blaqk Audio. Produced and recorded by Puget, Material is Blaqk Audios third release following 2012s Bright Black Heaven and 2007s Cexcells. Though best known for their work with multi-platinum rock band AFI, Havok and Pugets shared love of electronic music runs deep. Havok, who counts Devos Freedom of Choice and Duran Durans self-titled debut among the first albums he owned, saw his tastes evolve over the years from the synth pop of Erasure and Pet Shop Boys to Depeche Mode and ultimately to the heavier, darker Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Front 242 and Lords of Acid. Later, Havok immersed himself in the futurepop genre, which combined dark dance-y electronica with melodic vocals. From roughly 1999 to 2003, his contemporary musical diet consisted almost exclusively of artists falling under the industrial/EDM/futurepop/bigbeat/trance umbrella.

    Known as Jameszoo, Dutch producer Mitchel Van Dinther's Fool began life as just a simple debut album, but soon grew into something more audacious. The primary inspiration behind the album was human limitation and our struggles to achieve, which, while depressing on the surface, provided Van Dinther with the necessary burst of inspiration to create work that is both personal and relatable. Across its 11 tracks, Fool plays out Van Dinther's journey to find a musical voice he can be proud of and which can also inspire others. Alongside Verocai, Dafe, and Kuhn, the album features a stellar cast of classical and jazz musicians including pianist Niels Broos, drummers Julian Sartorius and Richard Spaven, bass guitarists Raphael Vanoli and Stephen Bruner (aka Thundercat), and saxophonist John Dikeman. All of these different contributions and approaches are weaved together into a whole by Van Dinther, armed with electronics and naivety. At times coherent, at times seemingly haphazard, the album is always joyful.
