British band Doogie White & La Paz return with a brand new studio album entitled “Shut Up And Rawk”. Almost immediately after their previous offering, “The Dark And The Light” (2013) had been released, Chic McSherry and Doogie White started writing new material. A total of 17 ideas were demo’d with 11 of them finally being crafted into songs for a new album. Recording could only be done in stages because of other commitments, but in many ways that extra time allowed the songs to develop and mature into a very powerful rock album, entitled “Shut Up And Rawk”

This contemporary (2003) look at the Dutch symphonic progressive rock band EKSEPTION consists mostly of vintage TV footage showing them miming to their records. There are 24 songs here, and at least 18 of them are productions from Holland TV. In the style of the times, everybody is wearing wild clothing and they're posed in unlikely settings – beaches, rooftops, pools, a tractor salesroom(?) – either with unplugged instruments or, if the budget is really slim, none at all.

Metal For The Masses has a collection of modern metal masterpieces. It's a great mix of Swedish/European bands as well as many great American bands. This album is definitely a must for metal newbies. It gives you a great selection of the various bands going on. Arch Enemy, In Flames, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Soilwork, Shadows Fall…and many others. If you like metal, this is an excellent choice to add to your collection.

Out of all the releases issued thus far in the Todd Rundgren/Utopia Official Bootleg series, it turns out that Vol. 5 – Oops! Wrong Planet Tour – is one of the most "bootleg sounding" of the bunch, as it's less than stellar audio quality suggests it is an audience recording. Despite not possessing as clear a sound as the other volumes (which appear to be mostly soundboard recordings), Oops! Wrong Planet Tour does a good job of capturing the group during one of the most transitional periods of its career. Beginning the year (1977) as a prog rock band (RA) and ending it as a new wave-ish arena rock outfit (Oops! Wrong Planet), both sides of the group are showcased on this double-disc set, while a generous helping of solo Rundgren material is included as well, given a Utopia makeover.
