Lee Mack "Captain Fingers" Ritenour is an American Jazz smooth guitarist, who has charted over 30 instrumental and vocal contemporary jazz hits. On the instrumental part of this CD, particularly "Bass City" and "Blue in Green," he sounds a lot like Wes Montgomery and he leads his group through some relatively straight-ahead numbers filled with soulful and creative playing. The five vocal numbers are much more in the R&B/smooth vein and occasionally feature the presence of Ivan Lins. Overall, this is another good smooth jazz offering by Ritemour, who specializes in bringing a diverse spectrum of "friends" on his recordings to keep his music fresh and alive.

End of 2009, he released his fourth electronic longplayer under the name Jean F. Cochois (on the first two albums just as JFC) and created a unique niche suited in the wide field of the genre Ambient/Electronic for his selection. His former releases - remixes for Enigma or Ex-Kraftwerk producer Wolfgang Flür (Yamo) amongst others - stand for new devised cliches and love for the music that lives in the details. 15 songs of an artist who walks his own ways with emotional denseness and expertly flair as regards sound and rhythm. These tracks came into being as demos, session recordings and finished tracks that have somehow been fallen into oblivion after being put on tape or CDR and stored in dusty drawers. It's a mixture of mainly electronic influence and also a bit of soul and jazz. While listening to the material again Jean F. Cochois and Mole Listening Pearls had the idea to bundle some of these within a long player. The result is "Gold In The Attic".

Two years after their second album "Afterglow" Norwegian progressive rockers Wobbler are back for good and present us a new album called "Rites at Dawn". Very interesting album. They seem to be more focused on melodies this time. They've cut back the technicality of their music and worked on their songwriting. The vocals and some moods owe to "Yes" but they don't seem to copy anything. Yes, the use old sounds, but they've managed to create a classical progressive rock record of their own.
