On Memorial Day 2003,an Oakland CA audience was treated to a very spacial,truly transcendent live performance by two legendary figures of '70s psychedelic funk, The Brothers Johnson!Nearly three decades after they formed as a band, The Brothers appeared as energetic as ever, a little less 'fro but a lot more soul, and rocked a set of their very best songs, including the smash hit singles "Stomp!","I'll Be Good To You","Strawberry Letter 23" and a supercharged cover of Cameo's "Word Up".

From the city of Leiden five veterans who were already active in the Dutch death metal scene (and who try to be not recognized) formed this new band and recorded with ‘Backyard Butchery’ a forty minutes clocking and pure old school death metal album. Heavy, dark, sometimes fast (but no blast beats!), well produced and blessed with great pulp styled artwork and even with well worthy intro’s and outro’s. This ‘Backyard Butchery’ is a good chopping old school death metal album and everybody who can appreciate this kind of music can give this one a try.

The story of King Thyrm, who dared steal Thor's hammer ", may set the lyrical stage on Tyr's latest album, but it does not prevent them from covering more current topics. The Lay of Thrym follows the path of the band's previous releases by uniting classic Heavy Metal riffs with impressive drumming, traditional melodies, and powerful choruses. The result is a number of epic anthems. The Lay of Thrym is a genuine viking metal album that will undoubtedly secure Tyr's hold on this genre with its heroic melodies and glorious riffs. The only progressive rock band from the '60s to be making new, vital, progressive music in the '90s, King Crimson returned from a ten-year exile in 1995 with THRAK, their first album since 1984's 3 of a Perfect Pair. As with the '80s band, guitarist/ringleader Robert Fripp recruited singer/guitarist Adrian Belew, bassist Tony Levin, and drummer Bill Bruford for this incarnation of his classic band. However, he added to this familiar quartet two new members: Chapman Stick player Trey Gunn and ex-Mr. Mister drummer Pat Mastelotto.

For Art Tatum, the piano was a veritable playground, a forum for endless invention. His supreme command of the instrument and his unparalleled sense of timing and touch allowed him to seemingly accomplish whatever he wished.
