Specialty Records was rockin' the blues long before anyone thought to call it "Rock 'n' Roll." When the new name took hold, the Los Angeles company responded with some of the fiercest rock-and-rollin' sides ever committed to vinyl. Twenty-one are contained herein, in addition to four from the vaults of the Ebb and Mona Lee labels. Included are old favorites like Don and Dewey's "Justine", Johnny Fuller's "Haunted House", and Jerry Byrne's "Lights Out" (with Art Neville on piano), along with such underheralded masterpieces of musical dementia as Roddy Jackson's "Moose on the Loose", frog-voiced Bob Landers's "Cherokee Dance" (featuring Willie Joe Duncan's one-string unitar), and the Hollywood Flames' "Frankenstein's Den".
