Although it makes no mention of it anywhere on the package, The Gold Collection is actually a Count Basie live set and not the straightforward hits compilation it presents itself to be; although the song selection is fine (with "Lullaby of Birdland," "Jive at Five" and "How High the Moon" among the featured tracks), the fidelity is subpar, and with so many better Basie collections on the market this one is easy to avoid. ~ Jason Ankeny

The music on Beat is a continuation of the style that King Crimson started on Discipline which means that they have incorporated lots of eighties sounds into their style.
