ANDRAGONIA was formed in Sao Paulo in 2007. Right on the following year the band did release it's first single. In 2009 the band started recording "Secrets In The Mirror", its debut album. Recorded at the band's own studio in Sao Paulo called GR Studio, and produced by the musicians of the band, Daniel, Thiago and Yuri, "Secrets In The Mirror" took one year to be completed. Without Recently, "Secrets In The Mirror" was also elected 'Best Brazilian Progressive Metal Album of 2010'. The poll was promoted by the Brazilian radio station Metal Militia and also elected other names like Accept, Blind Guardian, Scorpions, Dimmu Borgir, Angra, Torture Squad, etc.
Singer-songwriter Bryan Adams has been turning out hits for more than 20 years now, despite being dismissed as a lightweight with little more than a cocky attitude and an ear for a hook. But there were no nay-sayers at Tokyo's Budokan auditorium when Adams appeared there in June 2000; indeed, the young Japanese audience knows every word of every tune, screams out the names of his musicians, and seems generally enraptured by anything he does. There are no frills here–not only is the band stripped-down (Adams plays bass, with Mickey Curry on drums and Keith Scott on guitar), but there's no stage show to speak of and precious little patter. Still, Adams and his white-clad mates clearly deliver what the people want: i.e., one catchy tune after another.
CANNABIS CORPSE — the Richmond, Virginia-based old-school death metal band featuring Philip "Landphil" Hall (bass) from MUNICIPAL WASTE and his brother Josh "HallHammer" Hall (drums) — has completed work on its brand-new full-length album. On "Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise", CANNABIS CORPSE has ventured even further down the left-hand path to pay homage to those other masters of death, MORBID ANGEL and DEICIDE. Tongue-in-cotton-mouthed-cheek titles like "Lunatic of Pot's Creation" and "Immortal Pipes" keep the party rolling, but don't be fooled: CANNABIS CORPSE is not a joke band. Sure, they'll fire up a bowl and chug a beer, but then they'll rip your face off with a brutal old-school death metal assault, the likes of which haven't been seen since the seeds of the genre first began to grow.
It has been 6 years since the last Behind the Scenes album so the release of Pure came as quite a surprise as I had written them off as a band a few years back. BTS’ music is an amalgamation of accessible goth and airy synth-pop infused with mild electro elements. The driving forces behind nearly every track are the smooth vocals. Mel has a standout voice, so it’s easy to see why it is utilized so strongly. Obsession starts off the CD with a trotting beat and a distant, slowly chugging guitar that adds more of a rhythm element. Upon first listen I immediately thought of the music of The Church, but with the addition of some minimal electronic elements.
This 1962 effort was Freddie Hubbard's first recording under his own name for Impulse (MCA). Fellow Jazz Messenger Curtis Fuller and newcomer John Gilmore color the proceedings with adds trombone and tenor saxophone, respectively. These rock-solid, post-bop horn players are backed by the formidable rhythm section of Tommy Flanagan on piano, Art Davis on bass, and Louis Hayes on drums. ~ CDUniverse
This set came about, in part, as a result of Ellington's signing to Frank Sinatra's Reprise label in November 1962, with the ending of his exclusive contract to Columbia. Six numbers from the three Paris dates were initially edited and released by Reprise as part of the ten-song Duke Ellington's Greatest Hits, but the bulk of the performances from those shows didn't surface until many years later as The Great Paris Concert on two LPs. ~ AllMusic
Retreating from the experimental tendencies of Laid and Wah-Wah, James return to straight-forward anthemic folk-rock with Whiplash. Although the album isn't a retread of Seven or Gold Mother, it is considerably more rock-oriented than its two predecessors, particularly because the group has incorporated some elements of Brit-pop into their music.
