Maxime Le Forestier (born 10 February 1949 as Bruno Le Forestier) is a French singer. He was born in Paris to an English father and a French mother who had lived in England. He had two older sisters, Anne and Catherine. His musical training started on the violin. He attended the Lycée Condorcet, where he studied literature. In 1965, he formed a duo (Cat et Maxime) with his sister Catherine. Playing at cabaret venues on Paris' Left Bank, the pair met and formed a friendship with Georges Moustaki. They were amongst the first artists to cover a number of songs by Moustaki – including Ma Liberté and Ma Solitude. In 1968, Catherine joined Moustaki as a backing singer. Le Forestier began to focus on songwriting and composed Ballade pour un traître which was recorded and released by the French/Italian singer and actor, Serge Reggiani.
From pounding neckbreakers as "Destination: Nowhere" and gloomy "Apophis", to solemn hymns as "All Things Unsaid" and "The Eternity Syndrome", Bloodwork pull out all the stops of modern metal. As with their much-noticed first output "The Final End Principle" Bloodwork rely on their own resources and produce the album in their own studio engineered by songwriter Nikko. Ultima Ratio, 13 equally coherent as individual Songs, giving proof to the fact that the east-westphalian province doesn't have to shun the comparison with the international metal-scene.
This is a back-to-basics, classic metal album with a raw, in-your-face production that owes as much to '70s Marshall overdrive and gothic tales of yore, as it does the 80s flash and modern metal trappings. Apparently the time machine has been set to reverse, get in and enjoy.
The Throne of the Eye still breaths, the chains of the eternal recall tight, the scream from the abyss like a deadly sign of the hordes to come.Kaiserreich‘s dimension is far beyond the starts of the human’s spectrum, from the abyss of lost ages to grow immortal and take back black metal to a level of mysticism and evocative strength.Having well managed the lessons of the early ’90s Scandinavian black metal, Kaiserreich spill the wine from tears into a void of emptiness, a dimension of rotten faith and destructive anger. Let the hordes hunt back the mortals.
"Another album, another flop and the members of Saxon decided to make another return to more commercial territory. Destiny is typical late 80's sleek pop metal of the lowest quality…" (All Music Guide)
This 1998 HighNote CD reissues a long-out-of-print Art Tatum LP that was put out by the defunct Onyx label in 1973. The live performances are from the Jerry Newman collection of acetate discs and are fortunately in better technical quality than most of the music from Newman's archives. The remarkable Art Tatum is heard playing three brief, unaccompanied piano solos in 1940, three other numbers in which he is accompanied by Reuben Harris (beating out some quiet rhythms with whiskbrooms on a suitcase), and four duets with bassist-vocalist Chocolate Williams ~ AllMusic
You may never find music better suited to outlaw culture than this nasty little ditty - could have been the Hells Angel's Anthem. Punk at its foul-mouthed best. Play it LOUD and hang on.
Lies Beneath is a five-piece metal band with influences ranging from thrash, to death-metal and hardcore. With classic dual-guitar attack, a crushing rhythm section, dynamic vocals and brooding soundscapes, this band creates an undeniable presence and demands captivation from any audience.
